Streets named after Indians give the most candy.

Man, you sure seemed to be triggered. I've already mentioned it in a post.
And to clear something up, not everyone in the neighborhood gets the full candy bars. Just the kids who live on the street and around the block who I recognize. If I don't recognize you or your parents, you get the normal candy.
quote:you quoted me earlier, but left off the part where I said "parents who are driving around in cars" because it didn't fit your narrative. Those kids don't get full candy bars because the CLEARLY aren't from the neighborhood and I'm trying to discourage the action of driving around in a car on Halloween. Already mentioned in another post in this thread my disdain for people who drive around on Halloween.
Our "non-neighborhood" bin is for those who CLEARLY aren't from the neighborhood (parents who are driving around in cars).

You should get your 10-step Candy Allocation Algorithm printed on a big sign outside of your house
I'm going to Sam's Club to get a shitload of full size candy bars to offset your a-hole-ishness in the universe

You don't hand out full sized candy bars in the first place?

No, for two reasons: I want to have a big variety in each handful and I don't want to be eating giant candy bars after Halloween if we get stuck with lots left over. But I'll gladly get diabetes if it makes me feel better after reading all of your foolishness.
Do you have any more shade to throw?

Nah, I'm all good. If I'm a bigot for giving better candy to the people I know in the neighborhood vs everyone else then that's that.

driving to another neighborhood is trashy
Very. But I'll still give them good candy.

knocking on doors of people with lights off and not handing out candy in your own neighborhood isn't
Yep.
Sometimes houses aren't lit up well and still hand out candy. And if your lights are off, I'll just assume you're out of town or just have bad lighting, because people shouldn't be dicks and not participate.

I got notification on the neighborhood app that we're expecting a influx of children not from the area for Halloween.
I rushed out and got candy corn for those kids.

I get the neighborhood kids vs those who aren’t.
It’s one thing if it’s a 4 year old kid and their parents are out walking around with them - hey they may be a young couple new to a city and living in an apartment right near by while getting a feel for the area before buying/building a home. Those are fine.
Now the shithead teens who obviously got dropped off with little to no costume on just looking to take advantage of as many well off neighborhoods as they can can frick right off.
Trick or treating is for 6th graders and below. 7th and 8th graders go to some school or town social event. High schoolers go to someone’s house party or walk a younger sibling around but you aren’t there for your own candy.
Special needs kids are exempt from the above rules.
People need to learn and follow the social contract. Assholes who farm good neighborhoods for free candy are the assholes on the interstate going 60 in the left hand lane in a 70 limit area, change lanes without signaling or turn into traffic and poke their asses along. They wait until after their groceries are completely rung up to get their payment method out. They wait until the get to the front of the concession line to figure out that they want a medium coke and large popcorn just like the last 37 times they went to the movies.
We live in a society people, we’re not cavemen.

While I too like these, they aren’t on the same level as say... Reese’s cups, Hershey bar, 3 musketeers, skittles, etc. that’s what I was getting at

Hope everyone's kids have a fun, safe Halloween.

I don't live in a neighborhood any more, and really miss trick-or-treaters.
My parents used to live in a neighborhood where there were a few "good" streets (the ones with the big houses, lots of decorations, lots of candy.) Families came from all over the parish to trick or treat there. It was fun to see so many children, all having a good time. We'd sit on the porch for hours - watching all the kids and giving out candy.
Anyone who cares about only giving candy to their own neighbors sucks, and should think about the phrase "God loves a cheerful giver". What would it cost you in extra candy? Is that cost not offset by bringing joy to others?
