Our neighborhood is pretty small. Roughly 150 homes. We also do a couple big neighborhood events a year so you get to meet all the new people. TBH, there may be one black family in the entire neighborhood, and one black older couple. So it really isn't that hard to tell who is from the neighborhood and who isn't. Our "non-neighborhood" bin is for those who CLEARLY aren't from the neighborhood (parents who are driving around in cars).

And our "not as good candy" is still good candy. It's just the fun sized version and not the full sized version.

you sound like a piece of shite, who cares if a kid lives in you neighborhood or not.

Go reevaluate your reasoning or suck start a shot gun

My neighborhood is nonexistent for Halloween trick or treaters, so we take my kids to my buddy's house in a very nice neighborhood in BR. We bring extra candy and have a good time. A number of kids do get bussed into this neighborhood to Halloween and some of them are young adults without costumes.

Some people get upset about this, but we don't. We buy an extra $100 worth of candy. No sweat off our back and we help make some kids from less fortunate backgrounds have a better day.

Jeez you sound pissy. Everyone still gets candy. The kids who live around us just get bigger candy. My reasoning is that the parents of those kids contributed more to the whole Halloween experience of our neighborhood by also handing out candy. The reasoning is simple. If your family is contributing you get more. If your family isn't contributing you get less. In the end everybody still get some, and the people who drive in end up with more than if they would have stayed in their own neighborhood.

This year I have installed facial recognition technology on my ring doorbell. I've programmed all of the kids fingerprints on the neighborhood into it and have them all identified by what costume they are wearing this year. By hacking into their Wi-Fi and listening in for hours and hours.

All for the purpose of identifying children not from my area. Those children get a rock.

This guy here was trying to rationalize giving the black kids less desirable candy saying it's all about rewarding the families in the neighborhoods hard work.

The mental gymnastics people will jump through to explain we at their irrational disdain for young children trying to enjoy a holiday.

In my neighborhood it’s not just cars . . . We get flatbed trailers with parents sitting in lawn chairs drinking while their kids are running around. The trailers will stop in the middle of the road clogging everything up or they pull off in a yard and tear the yard up. Bring all the kids you want, but walk the neighborhood and be respectful of everyone’s property.

He thinks I'm racist because I said that I live in an almost all white neighborhood so it's easier to tell who is from the neighborhood and who isn't. So I guess his issue that that I'm profiling, which is somewhat true. But that profiling is based off of the demographic % breakdown of my neighborhood.

However in my reasoning race plays no part. It simply comes down to if you live in the neighborhood or not. If you family is out there giving out candy so my family can enjoy it, then you get a full candy bar. If not, then you get two fun size bars. Doesn't matter if you are black, white, brown etc.

I ask the kids to take off their masks.

The good kids get supersized Snickers.

The bad kids get questioned why they are here and where are they from.

Is that wrong?
