I will have a Swissy one day! From all I've read they are one of the best family dogs.

Have a little rescue terrier mix that is about 22 lbs. Perfect size, perfect dog. I truly believe some rescue mutts have an understanding of what you did for them at some level and remain grateful their whole lives.

Black mouth cur, they're great with kids, chill when you want them to be and protective of your property. They're intimidating looking enough to ward off riff raff but mine let's kids pull her ears, poke her eyes, body slam her, etc without so much as a peep. Best breed I've ever owned

If you have the space to let them do as they please, for my dollar, there is no better animal on this planet than a Border Collie.

My sister has 2 German Shorthaired Pointers and they're both really great dogs. Very friendly and amazingly calm around my 2 very boisterous nephews. Super smart too and easily trainable.
Cool looking dogs too.

Labs are awesome family members, except for the shedding. I hear labradoodles are equally awesome without the shedding.

Pound puppies. Great dogs with many to chose from for the activity level and personality that fits best for your family.

Goldendoodle. Ours is one of the best dogs I have ever seen. He is playful when we wanna be and cuddly when we don't. Doesn't shed, hypoallergenic, and loves kids! Fairly intelligent too.

German Shepherd

Fiercely loyal, good in crowds and public, beautiful, rarely need bathing, and playful.
