I bet air travel in the south is a shite show today due to IAH and DFW/DAL cancelations and delays

Power went out about 5am in old Sugar Land. We have tree limbs down everywhere. The local rain gauge 2 blocks from my house shows 9+ inches since 12 noon yesterday

Woke up to no power in Garden Oaks at 5am. Not sure when it went out.

You’d think the producers would have some awareness… they flash to these reporters to show how terrible things are and it’s a few branches on the ground and some puddles.
Either tell the true story or if you want doom and gloom, stick to a limited number in the bad stuff

Can't do s window unit because the people that flipped the house we bought installed a 2nd set of windows outside the originals, and the 2nd set can't be opened. One of those things i was Happy about because it made breaking in by window pretty much impossible.... never thought about this side of that...... oh well. Should have someone out tomorrow to get it going
sheesh. better hope there's never a fire. hopefully you have multiple other exit points

Thanks
It wasn’t showing for me for a few minutes, but now I see the outage number: 1,394,938
Also someone from PowerOutsge.Us is clearly reading this thread and it’s fixed. They have the same number of outages (with 2.6 million tracked customers).

Turn on 26 right now. It's pitching a bitch out there. Watching a red Honda Civic drown live on TV will be good drama

Are my eyes deceiving me or does the center/eye seem to be pushing much farther east than anticipated even this morning. Over Houston towards Kingwood.

Y’all still have power in OF?

Sounds like a transformer just blew north of Shady Acres?? It was a loud boom sound.
Gusts are getting insane now.
ETA: Still relatively calm and power on in my hood.

I was thinking the NHC really blew this landfall forecast, but the more I thought about it I realized the storm made landfall only about 75 miles to the east (longitude wise) of the earlier forecast point (Brownsville). That's still pretty impressive.
