The yellow and blue wrapping around the CDO is dry air. It's wrapping around the entire system causing the dry slot.

It's really gotta get its shite together if sustained 72 makes inland. I know we just said FBC isn't far, but 72 still seems like kind of a stretch?

I think they're just taking what hrrr is putting out and slapping that down as a forecast. Hrrr is showing RI with winds that strong in the eastern eye wall coming through Fort Bend.

Oh well, guess we boarded up in Rockport for nothing. Guess we needed to get all the boards trimmed out for the new windows at some point anyway, first time we've had to do it since losing everything in Harvey. Got a bunch of friends in Matty, hoping for the best for them, a bunch are probably just now rolling out of the sack after the Trump boat parade yesterday and the after party last night.

They don’t call it The Pearl of the Prairie for nothing.

Separate from the Hurricane, I’ve gotten over 2” of rain in a normally dry time of year in the OKC metro. Was dry the past month and now getting great rain.

And some cool history in Hobart from NOAA:

When clusters of thunderstorms collapse and dissipate rapidly, they sometimes produce a downburst of very warm air, called a heat-burst, which rapidly descends to the ground and spreads out. At the ground, the burst of hot air often involves strong winds and sudden temperature rises, which are especially noticeable at night when temperatures normally fall. One example of this phenomenon occurred just after midnight near Hobart on July 7, 2016. The wind averaged 30 to 50 mph for almost three hours, and the temperature rose from 80
degrees to 104.

I am a big fan of El Campo, if we were longterm in TX I would look to move out that way if we didn't go north.

Seriously?

Crap. I might actually need to pick up shite out the yard and pool.

I was thinking it just might be potential flooding rain but gusts maybe 50 at the most.

Yep. That or East Bernard.

I used to think Needville, but now the Houston burb is even invading that area with huge subdivisions.

Don't worry, I got buttslammed by the OT early this morning for saying Fort Bend should make preparations.

Good folks around EC, we know the Prasek family some, you couldn't find better bunch of people. They give back big time to local charities and especially veterans/ wounded warriors.

Yep, won’t recognize it in 5 years. Hell, they have real stop lights now.
