But that's not what happened though, right? He didn't "use" the word; he literally read if off of the paper (or his phone). He was reading rap lyrics, wasn't he?
He didn't "use" it at anybody or call someone the N word. He literally read it from a song lyric. And regardless of the dude himself or if you like him or not, that is absolutely a ludicrous reason for him to be fired IMO.
Stop being reasonable. This world is so stupid the filters on this site censor the word ****rdly which has no etymology in common with the nword.

he wants to hustle he can assuredly pair up with Devin Snow (Hold the Mayo) and they can create together but I honestly think Devin was holding out and hoping for a Barstool spot himself.
That’s the thing, he doesn’t actually create content. Barstool made content off of him because of his oblivious nature. Sure, he could host a radio show and make half of what he was making, but he doesn’t have the originality to create content.

Ben Mintz content is this:
- 90 second video outside of a football game or concert talking about how great everything is and how much fun he's about to have
That is it

That’s the thing…HTM isn’t going to hire him but I know he’s paired with other people in the past for content. I know of a few he’s worked with sp I’m sure Mintzy would have the opportunity to create if he wanted to. Whether or not he does I have no idea.
It’s not his strong suit BUT he does offer a lot of social media influence and that’s valuable. He’s got 117k Twitter followers while Devin has 33k…there’s certainly value there for someone wanting to expand his brand

As someone who doesn't watch barstool content, what do they actually do? The barstool subreddit says that Mintz "doesn't actually work?" Aren't these guys just glorified sports content creators?

Maybe white people shouldn't listen to music that makes black people hate them?
You can't avoid the word in that culture. Maybe avoid the culture?
Bingo. Reminds me of this incident with Kendrick Lamar here in Alabama.
LINK
quote:
It isn’t unusual for artists to invite guests on stage to perform verses of their hit songs with them. But things went horribly wrong when Kendrick Lamar invited a white female teen onstage during his performance at the Hangout Music Festival in Alabama on Sunday (May 20). Lamar had to stop the entire set and check the girl after she blurted out the n-word several times.
Kendrick mistakenly invited the teen onstage to perform his single “M.A.A.D. City” from his album Good Kid, M.a.a.d city. In fan video taken during the concert, the girl appeared to be excited and ready to showcase her ability, but things went terribly wrong after Lamar signaled for the DJ to drop the beat. In the first take, the girl – who identified herself as Delaney – began singing the verse: “Man down/Where you from, n***a? / F**k who you know, where you from, my n***a?” The crowd was instantly upset, with echoes of booing filling the arena. Then Lamar cut the music.
It isn’t entirely surprising that white people say the n-word at concerts. There have been several reports of predominantly white audiences screaming the expletive during rap sets, but it is rather shocking this girl didn’t check herself while standing right across from Kendrick Lamar. She had one job, and she blew it.
It's in the f'ing lyrics. If I can't say it, please stop putting it in the songs. I feel like we are in kindergarten with this shite.

Mintzy isn’t valuable to HTM without the barstool title.
Devin also relishes his independence. And actually hustles. Total opposite of Ben

117k twitter followers is valuable for anyone wanting to expand their footprint
Snow has worked with plenty of people before on the past and none of them worked for barstool …it wouldn’t be anything new

From my understanding, if you're not a PFT or one of the bigger personalities, you're not making all that much at Barstool.

Mintz told a buddy of mine he wasn't making anything.
I know he started all this other stuff and picked up the NOLA stuff but still don't think that was a major bump for him.

Timing kind of sucks as Big Cat won't be on the YAK today so won't address it...
I'm sure they may say some stuff on Picks Central soon... but we'll see

Their initial contracts are often based largely on their social media following when they are brought on and it's a short term contract with the ability to grow and renegotiate.
Someone they hire with 50K twitter followers will get more than someone say 10K followers and so on. Ben didnt have a huge following when he was hired. Part of their salary as well is profits from the merch they sell.
Obviously guys like PFT and Big Cat don't need to be slinging hoodies to make money.
