So a “bigot” is just someone who wants to take their family to somewhere nice without having Kashera and Trayvon making a scene?

Am I going to be compelled to appreciate “culcha” next?

You highly underestimate the socioeconomic divides in the country

The majority of our residential infrastructure in this country is based on being separated from undesirables

which is why it wouldn't really be a problem since most business already segregate themselves just by price or location

I was just raised to live the principle of not forcing people to do for you what they don't want to do. Isn't that just basic in not being a butthole?

I'm just waiting for the shitstorm when someone goes to a Muslim bakery and wants a cake with the Star of David on it, or someone asks for a cake depicting Mohammed.

That's the beauty of capitalism and an open market place, If one cake shop owner is being a dickhead, there's bound to be another one around the corner that would be more than happy to take the money

Absolutely. The reality of this is that if anyone is stupid enough to not serve someone for being black or white or whatever, the market will take over and run them out of business. Let the market decide the rules, not the government.

If a private business owner wants to hand a big flashing sign outside that says “No ______” (insert race religion sex or whatever) the. That should be their right. Let the market dictate if they fail or succeed.

As a side note, “______ only” groups and areas are gaining popularity and supported by the left as long as it’s done by anyone except white male christians.

In what used to be America, a business owner could decide that they didn't want to serve someone, and they had that right.

should be able to refuse everybody

I'm fine with this too, but we also must be fine if/when a place is put out of business due to terrible Yelp/Facebook/etc. reviews after denying service to someone.

I guess that means if I go up to a Black lesbian baker and demand she make a cake of some Klansmen beating up a bunch of dykes, she has to do it, right?

Surely you're smart enough to know that an individual's civil liberties stop when they infringe on another's right to free speech, no?

You can be a Klansman and demand she sell you a cake, but you can't make her put something on the cake that she doesn't want to put.

Not exactly? How about not any where near the same. Chick Fil A didn't refuse service to anyone. The CEO had an opinion. If the CEO had refused to serve chicken to gays I am pretty sure the response would have been different.

What if there isn't? What if you're the only gas station for 60 miles and you refuse to sell your products to a particular group? It's terribly unlikely another store will open up in those situations.

I still think business owners should be allowed to do as they see fit, but the idea that the free market will fix it isn't exactly true in many areas.
