20-45k is pretty poor. Closer to 60k is probably more typical. And that's decent pay for someone that works 9 months out of the year.

It's not exactly rocket science either. The material practically teaches itself. Just be a little entertaining and engage with the class.

My mother was a public school teacher in Louisiana for over thirty five years. She was earning north of 50k when she retired. Granted it took awhile for her to “max out” her pay, but she has a pension of 3k a month for the rest of her life. Not too bad.

I am really sick of hearing teachers complain. You barely "work" half the year and education has been a joke for decades. Suck it up or find a new career.

Lol… “work” you won’t even watch your own kids for 8 hours 1 day.

Doesn’t seem like a bad job if you live in a non “cultured” area. On the same schedule as your kids so you can spend time with them. Of course probably need a spouse who is not a teacher to bring in more $

I don't have kids but if I did, I wouldn't want them around someone like you for 8 hours a day. "Constantly around germs?" Boo fricking hoo. Mask the frick up.

You couldn’t pay me enough to be a teacher. It really does to be much harder and stressful than what most here realize.

But OP is exaggerating a bit unless this is in one of the poorest areas of La

And those in education are sick of listening to dumbasses like yourself who don’t have a clue. Educators don’t create the rules and governance of the educational system. Lawmakers who have not seen a classroom in decades are who creates the policies. In terms of barely working, I guess the plant/refinery workers who work a shift schedule only barely “work” half a year as well.

locked down 8 hours 5 days a week with other peoples kids… no way out -germs, sickness, viruses everywhere -no lunch hour -$20-$45k a year -insurance and benefits are gone -it’s basically become a daycare

What the hell are you talking about?

Covid hasn’t been a thing for a year where I am. The lunch hour thing sucks but I’m on the clock 7:45-3:15. That’s 7.5 hours. My insurance is probably better than yours, and I’m on a defined pension plan that will include insurance. I make $60k/year, which ain’t great, but it ain’t bad. And I’m 6 weeks away from a 9 week vacation.

Yeah, my mom retires this year. Granted she has her masters and specialist but is making around 92k this year. 20+ years in, but was a 1st grade teacher for her whole career until this year. It ain’t the worst of gigs if you’re in a decent state and county.

Find a new job and/or quit crying about deciding to go into a field that you clearly dislike. Bunch of fricking babies....less mature than most of your students, I'd imagine.
