My wife retired early. I didn't give her the choice, I told her she needed to because of the way things were headed. That was in 2015.
She subs now, but only for friends and grades that she wants to.

Public school teaching is a terrible profession in today's America.

Valueing education is largely the problem, not lack of funding. You can fund all you want, but until you're taught what to do with money it does you no good.

You can pump money into hoods and underperforming school systems all day long. It has never fixed anything. We've got decades of proof.

Loved trying to help young people realize their full potential. Knew the pay wasn't great, but unfortunately the bureaucratic headaches and paperwork initiated by people who never set foot in a classroom as a teacher finally did me in.

Yeah. Two parent households are much more likely to be educated and affluent. Two doubles the likelihood. Even Antonio Moss understands those stats.

You've solved the problem. Outlaw divorce.

I went to school in two different states. In one I’d say the teachers were great and deserved more than whatever they were paid. In the other, I’d have fired every single one, and there’s no amount of money you could pay to make them be better.

Is this supposed to contribute to the argument one way or the other?

The people you are talking about were never married. Hell, the 'father' was probably never around for anything besides getting the woman pregnant

There is the problem you need to solve

I was the risk mgr at a 100 school system for 3 yrs. Every yr I would go to each school, over the school yr, & give a risk mgt speech for all the teachers & aides. The first yr, I could tell who did not give a shite, the ones riding it out till retirement; the ones with a few yrs under their belts; and the newbees. The first group numbered mabe a quarter of the staff, the other 3/4 the other 2 groups. By my third year, those just riding it out had jumped to close to 60%; the newbees from that first year had dropped significantly....most had quit. Money was not really the issue, as noted, most teachers know it is not a high paying profession. It was the worsening facilities, the lack of support from parents and, to some degree, the increasingly worsening of student discipline. At every school, all 100, I was asked what were their legal rights when a student threatened physical harm.

I wonder if centuries of out-of-wedlock forced breeding has anything to do with that.
