No, but a good portion of it is. Poorer students typically get more in per pupil funding (eventhough liberals love to use that as an excuse so that they don't get called racist) and still get outperformed by wealthier students.

My great grandfather had a PhD. My parents both have graduate degrees. My grandmother and aunts and uncles were teachers. I am the epitome of family education privilege (and genetics, for whatever little they're worth). Sorry you got left out, kid.

I've seen it be around 30k in the grade school of our small (~5k) town. The principal of the MS makes under 100k. A teacher I had in HS had a masters and he's paid over 100k. We loved that we could get him off track by bringing up Chris Farley. (He was Farley's RA in college and he would constantly be talking about him being an a-hole.)

I've not read the whole thread so maybe it was mentioned regarding the days and pay. They are paid for only the days worked, it's just spread out in monthly or bi monthly checks. That seems to be a common misconception.

99% of us believe schools are more a function of the community.
The lone holdout claims by simply pushing more money into the system, everything equals out. The rest of us say that money is not the primary problem with education today.
The USA doesn't have a spending problem when it comes to educational spending. We don't have a teacher problem. Its a parental issue and larger societal problem of not valuing education

I went to school in two different states. In one I’d say the teachers were great and deserved more than whatever they were paid. In the other, I’d have fired every single one, and there’s no amount of money you could pay to make them be better.

Yeah, when you incompetent teachers are protected, you get less than stellar effort.
I feel for the ones who are good at their craft. Hopefully they end up with a nice cushy suburban job.
