My two old (14 and 16h dogs are passed out. The young dog is as close to the wood stove (which is burning) as she can be without actually being inside it and waking up to snap at two annoying flies I’m about to send to fly hell.

Yeah it bugs the frick out of me when I leave my dog inside to sleep all day while I'm at work. When the weather is nice her arse stays outside so can can protect the yard from moles.

Hey, be glad you didn't come home to shredded sofas, holes in walls, chewed up shoes and dog crap all over the house.

Mine will sit in the yard all day or in lay in my son’s room. He doesn’t bark at anything so he is an excellent yard dog. Eats, dumps, lays around, and walks about 3-4 miles with me each day.
He is mostly just a furry stomach with legs and teeth.

Working from home today,And my lab mix has spent the morning sleeping on his bed next to my desk, sleeping on my foot, only stopping a couple of time to stand by the back door so i would let him out

You’d be surprised.

We had an Australian Shepherd. While she was always a very busy girl, she probably slept 12 hours a day. When she wasn't sleeping, however, she was busy.
As she became more mature, she followed "the herd." If I was working, she was napping. If we were on the couch watching TV, she was napping. As soon as we stirred, she popped up and was ready to go...always ready to go. You have to work with them, but if you do, they make wonderful companions.

Ours has long adopted the cats' lifestyle of finding the most comfortable spot he can and sleep there. He probably thinks he is a cat now.

Looks like I’ll be in the market for a Great Dane or Mastiff for next dog!!
