A lot of the older farmers are selling their herds because the younger generation simply has no interest in the cattle business. It isn't just because the prices are high
there’s plenty of interest on getting in but most can’t afford it.

I reverse-seared it and finished it in a pan with butter and rosemary. Topped it with a blue cheese butter mixture. I very rarely order steak at restaurants.

Me too. Even when we go to a steakhouse, I usually order something that is not steak.

I haven't mastered the reverse-sear method yet. I've tried a few times but did not like the results.

I like McCormick's Montreal steak seasoning grilled for a few minutes on each side over charcoal. Sometimes I mix the seasoning with melted butter and spread it on the steak prior to grilling.

Had my in-laws over last weekend and a couple of them wanted theirs well done. I almost refused, but to each their own. What a waste.

With ketchup?

I have more pics of my steaks on my phone than I do of my family.

Over-regulating (taxing) the hell out of cattle farmers combined with green feigns like Gates buying up cattle land and not using it for cattle and you get these problems.

Yep- brisket used to be considered an undesirable cut . Until people figured out how to cook it properly

Anyone catch wind of this early and make some bank off of beef futures?

No, I heavily invested in frozen orange juice futures because of Mr. Beeks' report.

You're lucky. I bought egg futures. My internet was out for a day, so I couldn't sell, and I got delivery of 10,000 pallets back in June, sitting in my garage. Anybody want to buy a dozen? I can let them go for $3.50.

Chuck eye is still relatively cheap and a great cut if you can find it. Flap steak is another one.

They prefer A1.

I've tried many times over the years to get them to try it more rare and without sauce, but they are set in their ways.

I think when they were young they were poor and couldn't afford the higher grades and more desirable cuts, and are afraid to step outside their comfort zone.

Deer season is open!!!!!

I don't think I've bought beef in at least 3 years. Now we do eat a good bit of store-bought pork and chicken, but if it's red meat, it's deer in our house.

What happened to cows on the levee? There used to always be cows on the levee.. One time my parents got some cuts from a dude they knew who had some cows on the levee and he had one slaughtered and had given some of it away when he got it cut.

I might have to invest in some livestock.

The kids are already gone and have jobs in town because it was a losing industry for so long

Our govt along with their buddies at JBS did everything they could to run US ranchers out of business

I’ve been saying for years that demand will increase over supply.

The drought a few years ago killed off a lot of grassland and foraging. Liquidation was bound to happen
