Nothing wrong with the lake or mountains either.

Except that most of these places that are any good have gone way up in price as well.

Fewer people flying and cruising because of the vaccine requirements. All those trashy people that normally would be on a Carnival cruise are invading 30A!

Make that all the way down the coast to Everglades City and you're spot on.

We need to stop sharing those special places on the travel board.

Give it time. Once the recession sets in they will be begging for renters.

It’s been trending up for a decade now, and really shot up in 2020 when Covid limited a lot of air travel. My family sold our beach house earlier this year because the unsolicited offer we got was too good to refuse. Not sure if the buyers are going to rent it out(we sold to a legit buyer, not an investor) but I’d imagine they’d ask a high price based partially on what they paid for it.

That's why I take my family on a cruise instead. Everybody has something to do and can eat whenever and whatever they like.

Not Carnival, of course.

Booked a house near Ft. Myers for all of July for $3200 for the month, but that was 3-4 months ago.

Half a block from the beach, 1BR/1BA home.

I'm always scared of the ones that get left out at sea with some nasty virus.

Louisianans will have to visit Grand Isle this year rather than Alabama or the FL Panhandle.

You obviously haven't seen Grand Isle lately! It's still in shambles. The levee is still torn up, ditches still full of sand, trash still lined up on every street. It's a mess still!

Looking on VRBO, the places I normally get are about the same price. For this year we have booked a small condo for a week in September in Navarre Florida for $800. It's on the sound side beach of the barrier island, but half the price of a gulf beach room.
