It might make them think about their actions
It won't unfortunately. They'll just hire private security and pass the savings on to the consumer.
Speaking of, might not be a bad time to look into the stock of companies like that.
One incident will barely make them even think about changing things. A few incidents is still an anomaly. It will take quite a few things to finally change course.

Patient will be mad at the rich doctor and not the insurance company.
BS…I can be mad at both, equally.
Because, as a business owner who pays 80% of my employees’ insurance, I am subsidizing the DRs lifestyle.
You’d think they’d at least say thanks.

medical facilities are abusing insurance companies and insurance companies suck too. These issues are going to keep popping up.

Doctors are just cogs in the machine really. Their hands are tied by insurance companies by and large. It's ridiculous that the government has allowed them that much power.
Everyone wants to focus on doctors and how much SOME of them can make, but it isn't worth the bullshite. If you gave me a free pass to med school and paid for it, I still wouldn't want to put up with the bullshite they have to deal with on a daily basis.

Officials with BCBS announced that this would begin with claims processed on or after Feb. 1, 2025. According to BCBS, “We will utilize the CMS Physician Work Time values to target the number of minutes reported for anesthesia services.”
Before the pitchforks come out and the "critical thinkers" on this site go apoplectic, has anyone asked questions about why they are doing this? How often do surgeries go beyond the time lines? How generous are the time lines? Are there exceptions for complications? Was there a problem with suspicious billing related to overly long surgeries? Why those states? Have these limits already been put in place in other states and if so what has been the impact on the patients?

My co-pay for CT scans and other common radiology procedures went from $50 to $150 for the 2025 physical year
I had to pay $1,500 for a MRI b/c I was referred to the hospital instead of an off-campus imaging center. At the imaging center, I would have only paid $50 b/c of the way my insurance is set up. I didn't realize this until the bill arrived.

they either raise rates or cut benefits or both. They are in business not to lose money,....
would help costs more if we eliminated the Obama care covered items mandates and eliminated what some states require them to cover as well so thy can go back to covering the fundamentals.

Surgery schedules are slammed full. There is no anesthesiologist that is purposely extending surgeries to be able to bill more.
Hospitals make money on surgery. It's practically the only department that's profitable. Hospitals want as many cases as they can get.

It shouldn't matter. Allowing insurance companies to dictate that is arse backwards.
