Goddamn, I miss good fruit. I'd strangle someone for a truly ripe peach.

No veggies? All that sugary fruit is gonna make you a fatass, Mingo.

No. Fruit does not have a lot of calories. That's all that matters.

Plenty of ripped dudes on that meat and fruit diet.

There's also at least one ripped dude on that raw meat diet.

It has way more to do with what you do in the gym.

It’s what the Carnivore MD pushes. His schtick is to say that any vegetable is “bullshite” because many, like Brussels’ Sprouts aren’t something you would eat without some sort of preparation.

But meat and fruit are unprocessed foods. And the fact is if you eat just meat and fruit, or meat and vegetables, or meat and fruit and vegetables, you will likely be a lot healthier than eating garbage.

Most nutritionists start with saying to buy your food on the perimeter. Meat, veggies, and fruit.

He’s a brilliant marketer than lives in Costa Rica and surfs all day.

So a midday snack for a teenage boy.

Yep.
My almost 17 yr old son is running around 35 miles a week this summer, and he grew a fricking inch last week. That young man is running through some groceries.

He should be eating probably 3.5k per day. Nothing wrong with adding some glucose right around the training times.

In reality, he doesn't eat that much more than me. You can do a carb shake and some rice for $40 more a month

I’m all in on the bulk protein. I have vacuum sealed potions of salmon, chicken breasts, and pork tenderloin in particular and sealed them all in 2 gallon ziplocks to be pulled out as I need them. Vegetables have been frozen mostly because of shelf life and freshness, and I have a ton of dried beans on hand because legumes are the bomb. I don’t eat much rice or potatoes because of the carbs, and so it’s almost all lean meat and veg, very little one pot cooking. My fruit comes from mostly frozen Acai, and mixed berries and kale I put in my protein shakes in the morning with my oatmeal, also in bulk. I almost never eat out anymore, weekdays or weekends, and I don’t miss it, and certainly don’t miss the money I wasted either.

That should be about enough meat to get me through a month and I'll probably make one to two more fruit runs.

That fruit would last a week in our house and we'd still need strawberries a couple mangos, tomatoes and some frozen fruit for my smoothies
