I have been to the zoo many times and even the McDonalds right near there with family after. Never had any issues. I can only guess you have not been there if you think you are in some hell hole when you go there.

I say that as a MAGA hat wearing white guy.

I say this in every thread bc so many people are either racist or ignorant. It isn’t unsafe there.

I know people who golf regularly at Dumas too. No clue why bc it is a dump but they have never had culcha issues.

I'm sure you stop at the convenience store down street too? It's not a great area no matter how you try to slice it.

I am sure people stop around government, Florida and North when they visit their buddies on Steele Blvd.

I am telling you I have never went to greenwood park or the zoo and had any issues at all.

Well if they are using the tax dollars contributed by NBR, it might take 30 years...

That was one of my biggest take aways from the article side from the fact that my 5 and 3 year olds will be taking their kids to the zoo.

They legit brag about having a surplus even though people have complained, and while they let the existing conditions of the zoo deteriorate to the point of losing accreditation.

An entire new coast to coast interstate could be built faster than that.

I am in awe that timeline was actually a realistic thought

I never had any issues but the zoo is too far away from the city and it's not in a good neighborhood.

There's also nothing in the area worth going to before or after the zoo. You dont eat near the zoo. You go there and leave

I just wish people would stick to this if it is the reasons. If you say you feel unsafe there then it shows you have never been there.
