Good to see Planned Parenthood is involved. I can only imagine the beautiful art on display over there.

I live smack dab in the middle of it. It gets bigger every year. We throw a party at the house.

I'd be cool with actively promoting safe sex again,

instead of using free abortions as the preferred method...........

This isn't 1896 grandpa. There are legitimate medical options for people to avoid this and not have to fight natural and personal urges which should be their freedom to act upon. Just telling everyone to not have sex is so archaic.

I get that, whippersnapper. If you can't afford the medical options then keep your legs closed. Besides, there are plenty of ways to enjoy oneself with or without a partner that doesn't involve said partner spraying their guts.

With freedom comes responsibility.

Definitely but planned parenthood (while yes providing abortions at certain locations) can be an affordable way to get those options for those who can't afford it. As for their place in a culture and arts festival that is puzzling but I guess if they go through the same channels as everyone else to have a booth they figure this could be a good form of advertisement.

I'm not from Baton Rouge and have only been twice for football games so I'm not sure of the layout here. But is that stretch only 8 or 9 blocks like the map suggests? Or is it more spread out than the picture looks? I ask because why in the hell would you need a shuttle service for a street festival that looks like it stretches less than a mile long? Sort of ridiculous to stop at every block as well.

Is Baton Rouge full of people that are too lazy to walk a few blocks?

The map only includes reference streets, not all blocks. It’s a 3.5-4 mi stretch.

That's what they spend the most money on?

The map is condensed, Google Maps has it as just over a 3 mile stretch from end to end.

Can't believe that POS mayor you have in BTR hasn't made a stink about the name....Or even FATASS Gravy hasn't spoke up yet.

It's around 2.5 miles from Circa 1867 to Brew-Ha-Ha at the far ends of the festival.

It's an awesome event that showcases all of the great local merchants and restaurants in Mid City. I've been several times and it's always a great experience.

Ah. Makes more sense then. Seemed like a pretty big waste to have a shuttle for that short of a distance the way the map looked. Thanks.

shuttles are also used so people do not drive down government going from spot to spot, with all the pedestrians they want people off the road
