there's another problem that can't be fixed, and it's goddamn moron drivers. Baton Rouge has them in spades. IN SPADES.

Oh, it can be fixed. You just have to make sure that causing a wreck becomes a self-correcting problem. Replace all the airbags with 12 gauge shotgun shells. Bad drivers will take themselves out and little Johnny never will get the chance to grow up to be an idiot like his mom or dad. After a while, bad drivers eliminate their gene puddle and the marginal drivers learn real quick how not to be bad drivers.

Impatience causes almost all wrecks IMO. Just settle the hell down

Move to Los Angeles, traffic is much better. No one gets in wrecks outside of BR.

I like this idea!
The worst drivers to me though are the ones on Acadian coming from LSU to get on the interstate that are too impatient to wait their turn and just expect/force their way over at the underpass to get on the interstate...There are a few other areas in town that have this same problem but this is the most prevalent one I must pass each day.

ATL has wrecks 5x every morning. And the people stop right there instead of moving to the shoulder creating more traffic. Even though ATL has signs up everywhere saying move accidents to shoulder. I don't get it. The interstates will be packed and traffic will be stop and go 10mph to 35mph for miles and there are always the people who are trying to do 75mph zipping in and out of every little opening creating these rear end accidents.

If you google street view I-10 at Siegen, you'll see a car on fire on Siegen and an overturned big rig on I-10.

Just a normal day that the google car happened to capture.

True. But for a city Baton Rouge's size, it shouldn't be this bad. And despite study after study after study, nothing has been done to really help fix the problem

Studies are cheaper than concrete and asphalt.

I didn't see the car on fire but the overturned big rig is definitely a thing.

I do see on the satellite view what appears to be a wreck right by 3 crosses in front of the Gerry Lane dealership

They have the proper surface streets... locals just don't use them... this will never change.... I-10 is a major interstate and has an abundance of national traffic flowing through it.... this is not the middle of Nebraska we are talking about.....

BR people will hop on the interstate to get from College Drive to Bluebonnet or from Acadian to College.

The tanker that shut down I-10 and gridlocked the city a couple of years ago would be what we call "evidence to the contrary".

EDIT: Come to think of it, Perkins, Bluebonnet, Essen, College, Siegen, Sherwood, and Coursey on NORMAL days are also what we call "evidence to the contrary".

Always do this unless I have to cross the bridge on days like today. The worst days...

Maybe 12 or so years ago before New Orleans scum started clogging our streets/interstates.
