I remember that too. They went under fast.

As for scandals: Not a huge scandal - maybe more of a kerfuffel - but how about back in 2017 when Judge Mike Erwin was accused of calling a black woman a racial slur inside Sammy’s Restaurant bar? He got banned for life from the restaurant. Apparently he was grumpy to everyone there but they tolerated him.

It was somewhat big because he wouldn’t step down from the court and of course there were protests (one of many in BR between 2016 thru 2021).

Then, later on we learned the woman had lost a case before the judge and made it a point to go there and sit in his usual spot and cause a scene.

Judge Erwin passed away on 2022 btw.

Yep. I remember.

The Pat Screen thing was a pretty big deal too. I don't remember the year, but they found him OD'ed in a hotel room.

A lot of posting and nobody has mentioned LSU Heisman Trophy winner Billy Cannon - convicted counterfeiter.

What about the collapse of United Companies? One article called it "The Enron of Baton Rouge."

It's already been mentioned.

Found article about it.
Great job in finding that info. I was not aware that he made it to the hospital. My info was that he had collapsed outside the bar and was thought gone at that time.
The other part was Terry Lee Wiltsey who had previously been involved in a shooting of a guy when a rented "girlfriend" assisted in robbing the John but the "victim" came back with a revolver to reclaim what he lost and got shot through the head with his own pistol. He beat that on a claim of self defense. He also had the bullet wound in his hand after it went through the other guy's head. He got caught in a later federal case. Then got hit with the gun possession charge. That federal gun charge was rough, because I heard that he had been doing well during his supervised release up to that point.
Pretty colorful stuff.
I think some vestige of the Sons may still be around Livingston, but not sure. Dirty Ed's auto sales was supposedly one of their places, but that is very long ago.
I have wrung out the extent of my memory for the moment.

There was and I too thought the prostitution was going on under that name. A family member was propositioned by the owner or manager (some scum bag with a foreign accent, drove an Audi TT) to be one of his girls.

Looks like it moved between January and August 2005

Looks like it opened in February 2002 at Highland

The prostitution happened under Giovanni's Prior to the Vincent's taking over. Here's a blurb from March 2002.

One of my dad's childhood friends lost his entire nest egg I think in this. Really sad shite. People who steal from others should be put down.

I don't how all this works legally but can Mascona face some legal issues considering not only was pushing it everyday on his show but he had a financial stake in gamecoin and was open about it?

If he was scammed as well I doubt it. If he benefitted from it absolutely,

Seemed OLOL was helping funnel money to players before NIL.

The guy running the OLOL was just a crook and found other crooks who happened to be parents of players who no longer played at LSU.

Sylvia Landry

Any other pictures of her besides the below? Her story is familiar to me, but the way she looks in this picture just isn’t familiar to me at all. Unless she is just unrecognizable in other pics this the only pic that keeps popping up for the correct Sylvia Landry on a DuckDuckGo search (at least based on article with picture).

Vincent’s was off Essen and One Calais where Omi used to be.

It was at One Calais at one point (Where Chengs is now). . But it also was where Superior Highland is - Vincent’s Yelp page is even still up for the Highland location.

After Vincent’s on Highland closed then it was Monjuninis and then Arzis (or vice versa) before becoming Superior.

I remember my dad saying they pitched him and he said it was so too good to be true, anyone who fell for it was an idiot.

I actually still have an embossed metal pen from when I attended one of their pitch events at the Sheraton? Way way back years before it blew up.

Sketchy as hell, and thankfully my mother thought the same.
