It looks like my circuit is tied to the overhead lines on Highland Rd in 2 places, if I'm seeing correctly. My lines are underground at the house.

Without knowing your location, it could be just a secondary tie to the same feeder with one normally open and one closed.

Not a true double ended system.

Most circuits will, however, have ties to adjacent feeders from the same substation or nearby substations. in normal conditions, they can easily switch to an alternate source during outages, but this isn’t a normal condition with outages everywhere.

Depends on whether or not there is a tree on it.

Also true. Without a one-line showing the layout of the switches and circuits it’s a guessing game.

Give me a second and I can pinpoint your exact feeder and ties.

Please do the same for me. That same Pastureview/Mossy Oak circuit.

Please send me an email at bigapple828@aim.com. Or anyone who is my neighbor feel free to email me. We can try and stay on top of this and maybe get an estimate of when it’s back.

Two ties to the same feeder.

It feeds Rue De Tonti, Rue Villantray, Rue De Place, Corby and Huntington in one big loop with fusing at both ends.

It’s OH for short runs and UG in most places. If you’re out, then it’s safe to say both fusing, where it ties to the main feeder on Highland, are out.

That's the impression that I got. Without the technical shite, of course.
So I'm at the mercy of what kind of damage the lines leading to the feeder have, correct?

I think it doesn’t matter. Everything tied into that sub regardless

The Entergy map appears to show my neighborhood coming right off the transmission line behind it, but surely that can't be right?

I know that line runs to/from the big Coursey station

But it’s only OH just off Highland for a very short run on the west side and about 10 houses on the east side.

If both OH lines are fine, without knowing if there is an UG fault present in the loop, then it would only take refusing to bring you back online.

I have no idea if your area has trucks dispatched for repairs, and BilJ did say there was a tree down on a line somewhere in your area.
