A Bastrop woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly left three children in her car in the T.J. Maxx parking lot.
According to an arrest report filed for Brandi Crymes, age 30, officers with the Monroe Police Department were dispatched to 1300 Pecanland Mall Drive regarding three children being left in a car Sunday afternoon. The children were later identified as ages 10, six and two.
Crymes initially told police she was inside the store for 15 to 20 minutes and left the children in the car with the 10 year old in charge and the car running. She later said she was in the store for approximately 30 minutes.
The suspect also provided officers with permission to search her vehicle after a small, plastic bag was observed in the door sill.
According to the report, Crymes then attempted to conceal a pill bottle in her purse from the view of officers. The bottle allegedly contained 15 oxycodone pills. Crymes did not have a prescription.

Give me 10 beers or so and I'd think about it.

My parents would certainly be in jail, I don't know how many times I was left in the car with the windows cracked while they went shopping

Sometimes these things just write themselves.
And why do people keep doing this? It’s not that hard. If you leave your kids locked in a hot-arse car, you will be arrested. Or they will die. Or both.
EDIT: Ah OK, nvm.

My parents would be in jail too. Don't know how many times I had to page my mom at JC Penney.
She looks like a poor man's Anna Kendrick. So yes, I would.

Looks like a drive thru window chick, but not from a mcdonalds or large chain..but small town local food drive thru.
And left in the car at 10, with the car on, windiws up and doors locked, happened to me often.

10 years old! Give me a break. This is ridiculous. Every single one of us older than 30 would have no parents and live in a halfway house if our parents raised us in today's society.
ETA: I just looked up TN state law (where I live). Any child under the age of 7 must be supervised by another child 13 or older, in a situation like this. She would be charged here in TN.
In Louisiana it's under the age of 7 must be supervised by 10 years or older. Legal in LA!

Somehow Louisiana has some pretty strict laws concerning this.

"Leaving a child in an unattended car is unsafe and illegal," said Johnson. "Louisiana is one of 14 states with laws against leaving children unattended in a vehicle." Louisiana law mandates a fine of up to $500 or imprisonment of up to six months, or both for a first offense. For subsequent offenses, the fine ranges between $1,000 and $5,000 with jail time of not less than one year or more than two years, or both.
