Jackson, MS is a target because of the length of runways at JAN (or so I’ve been told since the 1980s).
The airport is actually a few miles outside of the city, so Jackson would be just as much a hellhole after a nuke as before a nuke.

Yeah I'm aware. My dad worked at River Bend. Plus there's a fault near there that could cause problems by nuclear blast

Doesnt matter. In the event of nuclear war, the lucky ones would be those who are instantly vaporized
The unlucky ones will die a slow painful death from radiation poisoning, or a shittly life of scavenging for like a year or two before succumbing to cancer or lack of resources
