You should probably post this on the Gay page.

I use the under armour 1.0 base layers. Perfect for south La weather

In louisiana? Nothing.
Lightweight merino base layers from one of the hunting companies like first lite / kuiu / stone glacier are titz, but completely unnecessary for daily wear in louisiana.

“good for 40-50 degree weather”
Silk long johns. Are perfect for temps like that.I wear them for deer hunting when it’s too cool to wear no long johns but aren’t hot and miserable when it warms up later in the morning.
Same for spring time fishing, chilly when running to a spot or wind is blowing.
When wife and I went to Alaska for 10 days we wore them all day everyday,it was high 40’s to low 50’s and we were comfortable.
They’re so thin and light don’t know you have them on.
For those that think they sound gay I have a black and green pair, wife has a pink and baby blue pair.

So stockings. You wear stockings.

Nothing gay about a man wearing stockings. It is 2026 man, go be yourself.

Outdoor Research Alpine Merino Wool. Lightweight is a must when going inside and out. Much easier to add a vest or fleece on top.

Nothing wrong with silk long Johns / stockings. I use to wear them every now and then when we went to the field during the winter time. My only knock (maybe it was the ones we were issued) is that I always had a problem with the legs riding up and the waist band sucked because of the elastic.
I know a few guys that wear leggings as a base layer when they do their running and other fitness stuff outside during the cooler / winter months. Not sure if they wear them any other time but it helps them stay warm while they are during their fitness stuff.

My favorite base layer for non-frigid temps is the Smartwool Classic Merino 1/4 Zip. I feel like a broken record because I recommended Smartwool socks yesterday. Merino wool takes a little extra care and isn't as cheap or durable as synthetics so if you want synthetic, I really like the REI midweight half-zip. If you want something lighter, they make a lightweight crew base layer that I like as well.

Wear layers? Thanks for telling me! Until now, I was wearing a heavy parka with nothing underneath. Now I realize I might need a shirt too!

It’s almost the time of year where ot’ers break out the under armor to wear under the 2xl pfg

I could maybe see wearing a base layer when hunting in 40 degree weather. Other than that, sounds like you might need to insulate with Tampax
