Baltimore Police Stopped Noticing Crime after Freddy Gray. Wave of Killings Followed.

I thought THIS article was really interesting in light of Mr. Gary Chambers' recent tirade against EBR Parish Sheriff Deputies when they stopped him for a traffic violation late at night.
It's a long article, but in part, it describes the effect of law enforcement turning blind eyes to minor violations and the overall impact of a timid police force. This makes me think about where Baton Rouge is headed after Alton Sterling.

You mean prevalent accusations of harassment against police causes officers to be more hesitant to act?
Interdasting.

This happens after every bullshite case where cops get railroaded. They say "screw it, let these animals kill themselves".

It's not like the police are saying frick it, I'm not doing my job, but in those areas where lawlessness seems to be culturally acceptable I can agree with them. Think 9th ward pre-Katrina.
Hey as long as you're doing your dirt in the confines of your own shite hole community then we'll leave you be for the most part. Carry that shite into civilized society and we'll make sure you suffer.

Well, it's getting to the point where police everywhere are going to stop responding to certain calls in order to protect themselves. Then people will rip the police for not doing enough instead of doing too much. It's a no win situation.

The same thing is happening in BR... read about the Ferguson effect in police depts

"We need less cops! Stop arresting for minor offenses like running away from police! Stop patrolling black neighborhoods we feel scared!"
*Department policy changes as they wish, murders rise*
"White policies did this."

Police departments are in a now win situation when it comes high crime minority neighborhoods. If they arrest people, it's racial profiling and over reach. When they then reflexively pull back over a controversy, the crime spikes and they are accused of not caring.

I'd actually prefer this.
If the good guys get a draw on the criminals first then we can take care of the problem once and for all. That's better than what we've been doing which is let the police harass everyone in dragnet fashion, pissing off innocent people and only getting the criminals on warrants and minor violations allowing them to hit that revolving door of justice and be back out on the street wreaking havoc for the rest of their lives. If they are convicted then the taxpayers on the hook for their food, water and shelter off and on for who knows how long until the streets take them.
If we rounded up all the Urban leeches and set them loose in the country and told them, "go a-robbin'" society would probably be clear of criminals in a couple months. Sure we would lose a couple good old boys in the process but that's a small price to pay.

They got what they wanted and now suffer the results.

I see a whole lot of winning here.

Considering the injustice and terror that Gary Chambers experience at the hands of the BRPD. I'd think the BRPD are just looking for the next Alton Stirling......

This has been the end game objective for BLM since day one. All the other talking points by their advocates was just rhetoric.
They figured out pretty quick under Obama that if you paint the police as “the villain”, it will likely encourage two things to happen:
1. They will be less likely to get caught in their hussle. Police won’t contact them for violations or suspicious activity therefore they can get away with more.
2. If they are caught, they will be more likely to be exhonerated in a court room because the judge/jury will be less likely to find the officer credible.
BLM has and never will be about equality. It’s about EXTRA rights: preference and priviliege ABOVE the law.

This is what political correctness will get you. Cops being more timid, more crime, more drug use, less safety for the average American.

Time to create some "umpoliced" zones for all of the lawreakers to go to do drugs, OD, rob, steal, shoot, etc. Kill others off for "dissing " and that will be acceptable too'
But no children in the zone- just lawless POS who think that they are safer in a place with each other and no cops. Then them rob and kill each other while the police simply sit back and ignore it as the community requested.
You get murdered in the zone? No problem, we can call that a "natural death" and call it a day,. Win/Win
