I’ve personally been in two wrecks caused by Hispanic non English speaking drivers who don’t understand what a blinking yellow arrow means

it’s not just hispanic no english speaking who don’t understand what it means. i would say more than 50% of drivers didn’t know what it meant when the lights were suddenly switched all around town to incorporate the blinking yellow turn signal.

i had baws in 2 separate trucks drag racing down staring towards perkins earlier this week at 6 AM. they had to be going 90-100 weaving in and out of traffic. one almost lost control and rolled in the curves where staring opens up by the commercial businesses.

Bingo

They put these all over before trying to educate the public.

My theory is the traffic signal, and camera is strong and they get the local governments to replace signals and cameras year round and year after year.

They don’t even refuse existing concrete pedestals and steel poles. They replace them along with the signals and cameras.

I bet they did pretty well putting in the new flashing yellow lights.

As big as U-Club is, this really only helps the ones in the back half on a daily basis. I guess when 30 gets its bi-weekly wreck, it’ll help everyone exit the neighborhood.

They should also connect to Bayou Paul Rd

I believe this has been approved and is part of the green light project. This particular stretch is just way further down the list as other segments of the GLP are higher in order of priority

It's absolutely in the works. It was slowed down the utility corridor that runs parallel to 30 and the train tracks. Lots of utility relocation along the entire stretch to take care of before construction starts

My understanding is that the previous wreck involved a Tesla passing dangerously. Nothing to do with the intersection.

I have a few friends in UC, I hate going out there, I fail to see the attraction. You are miles from a grocery store, you have to contend with a dangerous highway on a daily basis, cookie cutter McMansions with no architectural diversity, it's built on a cane field next to the river, no thanks.

Which is amazing because it’s meaning is 100% common sense

Was it the Tesla that split in half?

I specifically recall seeing this covered in local news.

I fail to see a reason to bitch about the city parish or DOTD attempting to improve the flow of traffic throughout the city. It’s not their job to teach people the rules of the road.

Have they cleaned up all the debris on side the road there yet? I passed by there the day after and there was shite all over the place- broken glass, bumpers, etc.

There’s a super wal mart and Albertsons 5 min away.

Cookie cutter? Not quite

Cane field? Nobody cares

Next to River? Nobody notices but River road to and from tiger stadium on game day is freaking clutch.

You're right, UC sucks. Stay wherever you are and tell your friends in UC to list their house...I know someone that loves cane fields and being next to the river.

There are plenty of houses on the market out there, if I worked downtown or at a plant, I might look, but too many places nearby making a lot of toxic shite and a lot of chemical barges full of methyl ethyl terrible going by. That fake French Provincial look is almost comical.

One day that weak point in the levee near the vet school will fail. That cane field will be under water all the way to Bayou Fountain and the Highland Bluff.
