It’s gonna be a scorcher across Texas and the south this week.

As a PSA the generic weather apps installed on smartphones (Apple, Google) aren’t very good. Best to use the NWS or local news station forecast apps especially when it comes to precip chances.

We sure could use some of the usual summer showers out of the gulf to cool the temp since we’re still getting shite on by the humidity.

Now do “feels like” temp
Why? That's not what is being discussed.

Why don't YOU do "feels like" for summer of 1934 in So. La.?

Hydrogen and Oxygen. Be careful. Those 2 + heat source will burn.

When you start flirting with temperature extremes in most locations you're going to have a wide range of forecasted temperatures. That goes for the Southeast or even Death Valley when predicting world records to fall. That's why forecasted temperatures don't really matter in most of these conversations. It just gives you a snapshot of what a forecaster (or computer program) was thinking at that particular point in time.

Weather Underground

It is unusually hot. If you take all the people that are trying to make some false equivalency to climate, on either side, out of the equation you won't find many that are not saying this summer is unusually hot across most of the South. If you have to go back 100, 50, or even 20 years to find a similar period of summer heat with very few afternoon thundershowers to break up the heat then you have to accept it is remarkably hot.

103 degrees? I guess I better give a lot more of my money to the federal government, turn my a/c up to 80, quit using fossil fuels, and start eating insects. That should stop it. /s

Massive High Pressure in the SW has been flexing it's muscles!

The driest Summer i can remember in a while; yards have been turning brown. But really have been enjoying all of the bright Sunny days shooting basketball & doing yard work!

Unlike recent Summers where we were sick off all the rain to the point the mud turned "green". Last year from late June to early September it rained 80% of those days. Wished we could donate all that rain.

Flipping the script now appreciating the 30% rain chance Tuesday. There have been an impressive string of virtually ZERO % rain days lately.

It’s summer in Louisiana….it’s hot. It’s always been hot. It always will be hot. And baws will always talk about how hot it is and how it feels hotter than last year.
