Why do you have to eat insects?

It isn't that unusual. This Summer has actually been fairly mild outside of the past few weeks.

At the risk of it being downvoted again I will post the precip outlooks for the near future.
In an El Nino Summer with high pressure dominating and no tropical Gulf systems on the horizon "Near Normal" is about as good as you can expect.

Why are there always these people who for some reason feel compelled to argue that this isn’t a hotter than average summer?
No, several weeks or two-plus months of consistent 100 degree temperatures are not what our usual summers are like.
It simply is a hot year this year.

I swear to god this is the first year most posters here have their own houses with AC and energy bills
We had a very cool may and June

If you want to take it out of the context of the sentence it was in, then sure.
But I know you’re super macho like stout. It’s always this hot. No need at all to ever discuss this simply being a hot June and July.
NOPE! It simply cannot be that this summer is hotter than the last few have been. We have to pretend that it’s this hot this consistently every year.

Those maps are actually exciting. But only they bring a relief from heat, even a little.

The “or” right before what you called a lie.
But you’re just wanting to be pedantic anyway. This is a perfectly normal summer! Every year is exactly like this one. Anyone who says anything about the heat is stupid.

Seems like we’re in agreement

Look above and see I posted actual proof. You are posting conjecture.

Data telling me that it was hotter in the 60’s or 30’s could not be less relevant to my belief that this summer is hotter and more consistently hot than we have had recently in south Louisiana.
But I know I know “it’s just hot in the summer”

It isnt typical, though happens occasionally, in southern Louisiana due to the proximity to the coast.
Also, the thread is about BR/LA. Yes, Im aware other locations in the United States regularly reach 100.
Also, just a point on the "muh 30s were hotter" argument. Yeah, we Dust Bowl'd ourselves. Look at the global anomalies. The unusual heat was localized.
It aint now.

If the last time we had this heat it was followed by the dust bowl, let’s hope it rains. We don’t need a repeat of the 1930s.
Posted on 7/30/23 at 2:34 pm to genuineLSUtiger
Southeast Texas would welcome those cooler temperatures.
