As if vehicles aren’t expensive enough already.

I’ve been a John Deere manufacturing plant, those workers have cush jobs for a blue collar assembly line job. I assume auto plants are similar

It’s a fricking joke and terribly inefficient due to all the regulations on employees and perks they get. I didn’t see one person “working hard”

We sat down with their engineers to discuss ways to improve performance with the tractors we use. I swear I knew more about their tractors than some of them did

Now our tractors have special gearing in the pto system that nobody else can get and it’s marked inside the tractors for CF (catfish) so when we trade them in they’ll know to swap it out for the original design. The regen systems caused the pto to wind up too fast when it went into regen mode while running a paddlewheel and would overheat the engines

What do you want them to ask for? You ask high and hope to meet somewhere in the middle.

I wouldn’t give it to them but can’t hurt to try.

The cost of their raise will be reflected in the adjusted sell price of vehicles. The average price for a standard full size truck will be $80,000 before long.

It's getting to the point where I'm going to need to sell my house to own a car. I guess my next car will be a Mercedes Sprinter Van converted into a camper.

I like how they are saying a raise and shorter work week wouldn’t affect car prices.

Now? Dude most Millennials are in their 30s and 40s. How old do you think they are? 20-25?

The company will meet in the middle and do, 20% raise.

And with inflation this high, it’s painfully obvious that lots of people can not afford just a normal life anymore. It’s not even a budget thing, look at the cost of vehicles, houses, gas, groceries, and vacations now. Lots of people can’t even take a yearly vacation cause it’s too expensive now

20% over 4 years is probably a little high for those positions, but not out of the park.

Where are they because all I see are people spending and vacationing and living beyond their means?

Electric cars require fewer employees to manufacture and there will be fewer union employees. The raise is a move to keep union dues at level where they can keep contributing to the left and union leadership maintain their lifestyles.

They’re also asking for a defined pension and healthcare for life.

I would have always had a weekend. But, because a union did something over 100 years ago, should people look the other way from their current absurdity and corruption? frick unions.

Millennials are our work force now, they think they should have at least two hours a day to play on social media plus 2-3 breaks and lunch. You have to hire three of them to get the production you used to get out of one person. And ain't nobody getting out of bed for less that $20.00 an hour, how insulting.

Wrong as shite. It takes less effort now then it did to do the same jobs as last generation. Companies want MORE bc they want the same work output as before without paying for it. Think of all those price increases on the products that you buy and do you see them paying the employees more? Nope. All those price hikes from covid shortages didn't come back down but wages are the same.

Nobody wants to work constantly. Its okay to take breaks. Stfu with your high horse shite. Millennials get more bc we know more than the older generation taking 20 min to open up a damn email.

And people need to value the product not the work involved. If I give you what you want in 5 min but someone else takes 4 days. I want to be paid the same or more.
