I don't have a truck but my Chevy TrailBlazer has a button you can press to turn off the Auto Stop. Does your truck not have this button?

You don't think that they gave any thought to that when engineering it?
I am sure they did, but I also know it wasn't a "feature" the engineers thought we all would love. Obviously, this shite was forced on them by the EPA.
By the way, government owned vehicles are exempt from all EPA rules. They come from the factory with all of this shite disabled or removed.

Auto Stop Eliminator. Have had one of my wife's car and my truck for 3 years now. Zero issues, wont go without it.

ITs a little more complicated than remove the dash plug and play.
That's exactly what it was on my 2020 Silverado, remove the cover to the switches and plugs into the on / off switch.

I think in summer the AC temp setting plays a part of it. Meaning if the AC needs to still run to meet the temp setting it will not turn. One of the factors the computer takes into account. I could be wrong.

My old truck in high school had the auto stop function, but not start.

Auto manufacturers put these unpopular features on vehicles to show a slight percentage mpg savings so they can meet some pie in the sky government fuel efficiency mandate. Its the same reason why brands like Ram have the Multi Displacement System which shuts off 4 of the eight cylinders when the truck isn't accelerating. I bought an 8 cylinder truck, so I want to use all 8 cylinders at all times. No one asked for this, and all it does is make the driving experience less fun.
Its a terrible feature. The first time my truck shut off at a stop light, I had a momentary spike of panic, and a flashback to when I drove a hoopty that would die all the time.
I immediately bought the Auto Stop Eliminator to get rid of that shite.

Not to mention how oil flows across the top of the engine. Maybe today's engines get much better flow of oil. We were taught back in the day you never start and go, you had to let the oil circulate. The start/stop means you hit the gas at a stop light and it's going without oil fully circulating. I'm prob all wrong here since I'm not even a shade tree mechanic.
But I hate it too.

The button for mine is at least conveniently placed next to my shifter. I just automatically hit the button when reaching for the shift now.
Nothing worse than when you are trying to make a left turn with oncoming traffic and the fricking engine shuts off a split second before you gas it.

On my GMC truck I have a button with a big "A" on it that turns it off. Just part of starting the truck.

Press button and wedge it down with a toothpick.

A friend got a new mid sized SUV recently and it does this. It's so annoying and it slightly jerks when it restarts.

Most trucks I’ve driven with them have a button somewhere to hit each time you drive to shut it off. Make and model would help.

on a 2018 F150 gain access to the back of the disable switch. Take a paper clip and cut it to about 1/2" long. bend into a "U" shape. Short out the white wire and the black/purple wire in the back of switch. Shove "U" shape paper clip in there snuggly.
And voila, your auto stop/start will automatically be disabled every, single, time. Without permanent modifications to your vehicle.
I did this to my brand new truck after it was a month old. It hasn't failed me since.

A friend of mine just bought a new Tundra but a condition of the sale was that the service people had to turn off a bunch of that crap. They didnt want to do
it at first but I guess they wanted to make the sale.
They can hook of the computer to it and adjust a bunch of stuff.

If I put my vehicle in sport mode the auto start/stop goes away

On a 2017 f150, it disables if you have something plugged into the 110v behind the console
My 2021 F150 had something related to the auto stop plugged into the battery, disconnected it and no more auto start/stop.
It did put a warning on the has screen but that was less aggravating than the truck shutting off right as I was trying to pull out onto a highway.
ETA My 24 Silverado doesn’t shut off if the AC is on max cold. That’s the only way I’ve found to avoid it in this one.
