9 minutes earlier than you wanted to.

i can’t stand people who HAVE TO wake up at 3:45 to hit the gym.. exercise is nice to do, but sometimes this gym shite is ridiculous. Unless you’re training for a professional sport or a role in a movie, there’s no reason you HAVE TO make yourself get up that early and get to the gym

people like being in shape/healthy and for a lot of people with families, before work is the only time they have to do it
weird thing to get upset about

just started using a cpap machine and I'm getting used to it slowly but the downside (which really isn't a downside) is I'm sleeping better but wide awake at 4am. I need to work on staying up later I suppose.

Ok well I’m sure as hell not going after work when the gym is packed as shite and not get to spend dinner/evenings with my kids so what would you suggest?

Not if you are in bed at 7:30 when the world is still booming another 4 hrs.
I wish the world would just shut down at 6, honestly.
The sun sets at 9:30 pm here in the summer. We moved here willingly and love it, but good lord.

You sound lazy and probably not very driven in any aspect of your life.

I'm up at 6 every day of the week. Looking back I have no idea how I ever slept until noon when I was younger. It seems physically impossible now, but also I had wasted half the day by the time I woke up.

3:45 is a bit crazy but some people have commitments in the afternoon where otherwise they would not have an opportunity to do the gym.

If my son was sleeping through the night right now and I could actually get unbroken sleep I’d be up by 5:30-6:00 on my days off. I like starting my day that early. That extra hour-hour and a half is wonderful. Sometimes it’s my only quiet time of the day.
My folks are retired and my dad still gets up early. Goes outside and sits on the back porch and has his coffee and reads the news on his iPad. Especially this time of year when the weather is good.

Man I’m the opposite of everyone here. Stay up late and sleep in. When I got work, I just get up, get dressed and go. When I was younger on days I didn’t have work I would stay up till like 5 or 6 AM and sleep till 3 PM.

I'm not a morning person at all. Having kids cured me of sleeping in so much but I'll still sleep until 9:30 or so on the weekends. I'm up every day at 6 during the week.

I wish I was a morning person but I seem to get my best sleep between 5:00 and 8:00 am.I like to hunt and fish and it sucks to have to struggle to get out of bed.

I enjoy the quiet of early mornings. Also is a great feeling on a Saturday or Sunday when you’ve already worked out and ran some errands....and realize you still have the whole day ahead of you.
This. In H.S. and at LSU i swam, so very early mornings were the norm. Now, during the week, i can can get so much more done before the normal phone calls/emails start. Do more from 5-7:30 than for most of the rest of the day. I do believe that your day is only as productive as the way you start it.
Weekends, wake up 5 or 5:30 just out of habit. I enjoy the quiet time. Have some coffee, hang out with the dog before wife and kids wake up. Going fishing is actually sleeping in sometimes.
Getting up early is not better or worse. Just a habit.
