Because it is a DMV Express and not an actual DMV, IIRC.

They can't do everything but can do most things you'd need a DMV for

(1) Do you even schedule online appointments, bro? Super easy and fast.
(2) Cash only rocks. Most people are getting rid of cash, which sucks, so bravo to the DMV. Why? Because you do not choose to be a customer there, you have to be a customer there, so they don't need to offer credit card purchases. Smart move, keep it simple.

BATON ROUGE - A Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicle employee has been arrested after she allegedly overcharged customers in Baton Rouge.
On Wednesday, state police arrested 25-year-old Dequsha Ingram for felony theft, injuring public records, and computer fraud. According to a release, the investigation began when an OMV supervisor was made aware of possible fraudulent transactions by an employee at the Independence Boulevard office in Baton Rouge.
During the course of the investigation, LSP detectives determined that Ingram had been overcharging customers for various transactions since December 2017, all the way through to this month. When asked about the transactions, police say Ingram admitted to the crimes.
She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Wednesday.
Such trustworthy people working at the OMV
I hope that felony conviction was worth it

Louisiana dmv only hires the rejects from Popeyes.

Stop going to the OMVs. They are shite. Go to an auto title place and you can be in and out in about 15 minutes. The neighborhood auto on drusilla can do anything an OMV can.

I remember getting my first Texas DL when I first moved here after growing up in Louisiana. I was shocked how much better the DMV was here. I moved from New Orleans to give a point of reference.

At the DMV in Baker right now
Multiple employees sitting around doing nothing.
that is SOP for any DMV anywhere in louisiana, if someone is working and getting things done they fire them for making everyone else look bad.

Why TF is this a cash only operation?
thats easy, half the checks they get bounce and once you walk out the door with your registration and new plates they dont have resources to go find you at the fake address you gave them and take it back

I have used the shop in Hi-Nabor supermarkets a few times. The one on Florida is the best one so far. Evangeline is good also.

Went to the BR DMV the other day. For some obscure reason the door was locked, you had to wait for a sassy kween to open it. Is there a sign saying ’Please wait’? No lol. So when someone inevitably pulls it the bridge troll at the door snarls “DONT PULL IT, I’M COMING” while giving you a dirty look.
However, once inside I was in & out in 20 minutes.
Overall experience, 3/5.

You can register to vote there too! What a security breach! And jbe has had dmv on high security alert since he won his second term…he keeps renewing …..a way to cover up is what they’re doing…

You still have to pay tickets and fines and shite with money orders in some areas. I remember being able to just pay with a debit card at the br courthouse.

Last time I was at the DMV, I called them lazy frickers, and told them to frick off.
They kept lying and telling me I was wrong, I told them, the highway patrol, and dot. In Springfield Missouri told me this is how it is, they kept saying nope, we don't do that, I said, call Springfield,, and it will get taken care of, nope,. No, qe don't do that, I then called them lazy frickers and told them to frick off. Drove 5 minutes to different DMV and they took care of it and not one said they don't do that.

It means you have to take the eye test which can only be done in person.
