Multiple employees sitting around doing nothing.
Why TF is this a cash only operation?

All you suckers going to DMV's in/near the cities - if you're going to spend all day doing that, take a trip out to the sticks and go to one of theirs. I had to update my medical information for my cdl a few weeks ago - in BR/NOLA that'd be a full day of sitting and waiting, instead I drove up to Bogalusa and was in and out of there in fifteen minutes WITH a new license to boot. I walked in and went straight to the counter because there was nobody in line.

Probably the worst run state agency in Louisiana.
They have no concern for customer service at all.
They probably still masking up and using COVID as excuse to stay home.
You could do most of that kind of work online.
People could go online and complete everything and licenses could be mailed.
The fact that they are still a cash operation is beyond stupid.

Go to one of the private places. You will be happy you did.

Well it’s Baker. How else are the Baker OMV employees going to steal?

At a government-run entity? Pics, or it didn't happen.

I used to go out to that DMV to renew my license because it wasn't very busy compared to the BR one. That was before they had the little express things.

The Port Allen one didn’t have a wait either. In and out in 15 mins. It was the one on Independence Boulevard that was an absolute shitshow. If you don’t mind paying around $30 extra for a license renewal, the Express OMV is the way to go.

I haven't been in a DMV in probably over 15 years at this point other than once to turn in a license plate which didn't require standing in line.

I believe the State OMV office closed there some time ago and the building occupier by a "Public Tag Agency", which is private. But you are still in Baker, so there is that.

Yep, it is private.

That's what I'm having to do.

Mine expires in a couple weeks and it says I'm not eligible to renew it online (whatever that means), and one of my buddies who recently renewed said skip the DMV and do one of these private places. Got plenty around the city. In and out in 15 minutes he told me. I'm sold.
