Their in house rate with Wells Fargo beat my chase rate. I think we're back on track

Figured it would. They like to keep as much of the sale in house as possible.

I have a very very hard time believing the 5.1% tax thing, maybe it's true I have very little to no experience there. But I don't see if that's the case how internet deals work with in house financing. Pretty sure they'd have a way around it.

I really think I'm doing okay. 2015 Lexus GS350 Fsport and I'm getting it for well under blue book and USAA metrics - like between 15 and 20% under.

Under 18k miles, clean car fax only 1 owner and remainder of Lexus warranty.

No way around taxes unless you're friends with dealer or paying cash I'd assume?

Tell the F&I guy once he gets everything he needs he can call you to come back. I would never sign anything without all the paperwork.

If you like the vehicle and can wait until next week sleep on it. If he is legit he cannot sell the Vehicle to anyone else anyway.

You can also call chase and see if they can give you a few points lower on the loan if you finance with them directly.

Then if the f&i guy calls you back with the paperwork needed just go with your preapproved form from chase. It might save you a few bucks.

Got to love the liars.

When I bought my car about a year ago, they added the extended warranty which I didn't want. When I asked to have it removed, they said I would lose my interest rate.

When I asked them why, they had no answer. It sort of stunned the guy when I asked. He coughed and tried to think for a bit, then just said because.

I told them I would look into it and come back the next day.

When I came back the next day, suddenly I could have the same rate without the extended warranty.

We just bought a new F150 before having to give 1 of our VW TDis back in a buyback. The dealer did the same thing to us. Went there with a pre-approved 3.8% from Capital One. Dealer said he could get it lower, he then ran our credit 6times trying to get a lower rate which he could not.

Sort of pisses me off. Thought it would have been just 1 pull, not 6. Fckk those ppl.

There is a poster on here, can't remember his name, who has posted tips on how to negotiate when buying a new vehicle and provide step by steps instructions on what to do.

I guess you didn't read this?

Y'all do realize that if your credit is ran within a two week period, it doesn't matter if it is ran 100 times or 1 time, it counts the same.

They likely saw the American walking around and saying mates so they figured they could pull a fast one on him

This and also if you take care of your business a point here and there won't make a damn bit of difference.

As the saying goes .... "You can't do a good deal with a bad person" and from the sound of it, the salesman telling you that the 'system is down' is unethical and only wanting you to finance it through the dealership. Even if their financing terms were lower, i would walk and not get played for a fool. I wouldn't want a guy like him getting any of my money ...

Like any negotiation, you need to do your homework beforehand and know as much about where your boundaries are prior to entering their dealership. Car salesmen are very good at their jobs and will tell you anything to put money in their pockets. I always deal with either their fleet sales guys are their internet manager. The next salesman up is just asking for a headache that can be avoided.

On another topic altogether, if you can you need to only buy a car that you can afford to pay for with cash. Some situations don't allow this but that's the best in my opinion hands down.

Good luck and i wish you well!
