When financing, you pay the taxes at time of sale. Either financing or out of pocket.

He pulled your credit to hold points on the financing.

Tell him you want to see the call back and seeing it is contingent on the sale.

You're getting screwed. Are you getting it for significantly less than invoice? Unless it's an in demand model, if you aren't, you're losing. Look in to hold back money and subtract that from invoice. Also subtract that $700 or so advertising charge.

I've been told by dealers the best rate i could get is say 3%. I then call my local bank and/or credit union and they can get me 2%.
Therefore, I will just go through the local institution.
Everything needs to be spelled out: purchase price, taxes, tags/title, extended warranties, administration charges, etc.
I would read over each and every charge to confirm everything. And then I would go to another dealer to make sure you are getting what is best for you.

Walk, worst case scenario you do the same deal Monday.

Stay there, worst case scenario you lose $2,000 or more. Up to you.

I'm getting a good deal, mates... don't worry - I was just worried about the tax aspect but it's legit.

I have financing through Chase. Dealer is saying he can't get the title that Chase needs bc system is down. I don't believe it but whatever.

I suppose you should just walk over to a competing dealership and buy a car from them. Make sure to mention that it was the Finance Manager that destroyed the deal you've reached after hours with with the salesman.

They'll call your mobile phone within 20 minutes with the rate you want. You have to leave and be willing to buy something else or nothing today. If they want to frick with you, you can frick right back. Just disappear for a few hours. Go have lunch.

Guy is lying. If you feel you've negotiated a good deal and the rates are the same, plus don't mind dealing with a liar then I don't see a reason to walk away. You should ask for something else, whether it be extra money off, premium floor mats or other accessories eye for not walking out.

Car dealerships are mostly garbage when it comes to ethics. I've tried to get an online quite from several the last few days and either get an immediate phone call when I submit the request or an ignorant email back saying the Internet sales manager is there to meet my needs. Well how about giving me a no b.s. price on the VIN I specified in the request for a quote for starters? More determined than ever to keep the current vehicle now.
