Is the event beginning to slow down in Ascension? Water flowing in the right direction, a slower flooding pace, etc….
I have no idea about that, but do know I got a text from WWL, about 2 hours ago, saying Ascension had given out a voluntary evacuation.

Anyone have an update at Crawford Rd area?
I'm not sure about there. 431 had water deep enough to float boats not too far from there.
However, if they haven't gotten water yet, they shouldn't get any more. Water levels in that area should be slowly falling.

I only know of 3 people in the entire parish who DIDN'T flood. I'd say that's warranted.

and even rising in some areas in Sorrento and along New River, Bayou Conway, and the Panama Canal.
Panama Canal has been falling for the last several days.

Thanks sir. I knew they had that area closed off because of water, and his son's house has water in it not too far from them.
Just curious

The house I'm selling in Gonzales on Sunday wasn' t flooded and was supposed to close Monday(bank and buyer were ready) but my real estate agent was stuck in Denham due to flooding and couldn't make it to the closing.
I don't have flood insurance.

I'm not in State right now, I have no idea how much things have changed since Sunday at my house.

For anyone in the know, which is a bigger threat to the Pelican Point area: Panama Canal or flooding via Sorrento.

Then why wait so long to issue the orders.

Because no one saw this water coming. Most of the people who flooded this time lived in areas which did not flood in 83 and had never flooded. Many of them weren't even in Army Corps of Engineers Flood Zones. This was completely unprecedented.

No you jackass. I was just curious how far the water is expecting to go west. I used the mall as a reference point because I'm not from that area, and it's what I know! But thanks for the assumption, and you're welcome for the donation I made to the Red Cross.

Dude, I am sorry, I couldn't resist posting that. I know it was a dickhead thing to post, but I was joking.

I don't know the answer for sure but I would guess the Panama Canal since it is closer to Pelican Point

Yeah, New River was flooding out 44 pretty bad. Area around Lamendolas was under a few feet of water, and Cornerview had a couple of feet too.

Does anyone know whether the water in the Acy area( between Diversion Canal and Sorrento) is starting to recede any?

This is how misinformation gets spread.
A voluntary evacuation was given for parts of Gonzales, The Ridge Rd./Bluff area and Sorrento. NOT the whole parish.
