As Zion moves in, everyone else in Louisiana moves out

The largest moving company in the United States, United Van Lines, recently reported that Louisiana has a 10 percentage point gap when it comes to outbound versus inbound migration. In fact, Louisiana ranked lowest among all other southeastern states, with 55% of movers departing the state.

The most recent report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed Louisiana was one of only four states to see an increase in unemployment during December 2019. The state’s unemployment rate currently sits at 4.9%. That's 1.4 percentage points above the national average and highest in the southeast aside from Mississippi.

So, what’s leading to this lack of jobs and opportunity?

According to the Tax Foundation, Louisiana ranks 41st overall in state business tax climate. This poor ranking is due to the state’s especially high sales tax, corporate income tax, and personal income tax rates.

According to the American Tort Reform Foundation, the state also earned the dubious distinction as the fourth-worst "Judicial Hell Hole" in the country. It’s unsurprising given that nearly $7 billion, more than $4,000 per household, was paid out in tort litigation in 2016.
Other mentioned reason are terrible education system, regulation and criminal justice

Yep, and the dumbasses in that state essentially elected a plaintiff attorney to the governorship.
In Scruffy’s opinion, Louisiana would be a great state if it wasn’t for all those damn Louisianians.

Wonder why Gordon et all are rich? That’s why they own so many billboard spaces.

Last one out needs to remember to turn the light off...this state is bleeding to death.

2016 is also the year the BP Settlements were paid out.

Just turn on the TV and tune in to local networks to see the proof of this. 90% of local advertising is lawyers trying to convince idiots that they need to sue someone.

It's why our insurance rates are sky high. My wife tapped a guy at a red light a few years ago at about 2 mph with her Honda Accord. He was in a F250. Did zero damage to his vehicle and barely any noticeable damage to hers. He got 27k in bodily injury from our insurance company

Which party has been in the gahvanahs mansion for the last 4 yrs?....

And the south Louisiana brain dead clowns just re-elected a plaintiff’s attorney as governor.
Makes my blood boil, how are you all so stupid?

Weird, I didn’t get any of that tort money. Seems I need to call the official personal injury attorneys of LSU Sports

People are tired of being abused by taxes without any reward. Most places you have to add in the cost of private schools to the cost of living. Also look at the leadership in the major cities in the state.
We are fricked. It was fun while it lasted.

Lafayette is the only city over 100k without completely incompetent/3rd world leadership. It’s a shame the economy just wasn’t diversified enough by 2014.

Louisiana is such a shithole

Not surprised. Look around.

I was very worried about the past election for mayor-president. There are a lot that want incompetent leadership but they don't have the numbers just yet.

Well that’s just because insurance companies are evil and denying all these “valid claims”.

Anxiously awaiting his new commercial bragging about son winning a national championship. I wonder how much he had to pay to get him on the team.
