Baw, you have faith in Josh Guillory? I think Lafayette had exactly 0 good candidates in the Mayor/President election this year

Way more faith than I had in Carlee Alm-Labar.
I wouldn't have been comfortable with her being elected.

Taxes my parents just moved out of the state to retire in Rosemary Beach and they are now paying $10k a month less in income taxes because they moved to Florida from Louisiana. They own a lot of real estate and stocks which is why the amount is so large.

Business torts are just as big of a problem for the long term success of the state.

You can thank the 50k jury threshold for that. Only state in the country and they are refusing to change it, saying that doesn’t play a part in the rates. Next closest is 15k. Hell I think 36 states don’t even have a jury threshold. Guess which ones have the lowest rates.....

Which, by and large, were embarrassing. Every SOB with a business in this state put his hand out. Pathetic.

I know a part time, uptown waitress who got money out of that shite. I couldn't fricking believe it.

Margi Gras and shrimp poboys ain't that big of a frickin' deal. There's no shortage of states that know how to party and eat well.

Yep, and the dumbasses in that state essentially elected a plaintiff attorney to the governorship.
Yep. Plus the fact that Republicans can't function (politically) in Governor's races. Rispone alienated too many of Ralph Abraham's supporters, so GumboPac won.

Same stupidity in 2015 when Vitter got in the race.

The conversation in Louisiana is always about raising taxes

When the actual conversation should be about taking the taxes and ensuring that the money is actually put to use in the community and use to grow business

Spend all day complaining about new taxes and don’t give a damn about the millions already lining the pockets of the politicians as it is.
