Good thing everyone keeps wanting to have more taxes everytime an election shows up.

Definitely need higher taxes than we already have

My family has been in Louisiana since before it was a state, and I agree with you.

in the country. It’s unsurprising given that nearly $7 billion, more than $4,000 per household, was paid out in tort litigation in 2016.

2016 is also the year the BP Settlements were paid out.

Which, by and large, were embarrassing. Every SOB with a business in this state put his hand out. Pathetic.

Once again, I will say it

College students who benefit from TOPs should be required to work in the state for X amount of years or pay a penalty

Also, injury lawyers and the scumbags that take up our roadside billboards are one of the worst things about this state

The penalty would probably still be beneficial to finding work out of state given how shite the job market in the state is.

We Louisiana residents keep electing socially conservative, yet economically progressive politicians.

That’s why our state is in such poor shape. Period. Look at the people our state idolizes and worships as politicians? Huey Long and Edwin Edwards. Both fricked this state over for centuries to come.

No doubt, we are a judicial hell hole. However, I would like to see this data. Seems like it has to include business torts and not just P.I., as it seems to suggest by supplying a "per household" figure.

I would move but unfortunately for what i do the most competitive market for my services is right here in Houston to New Orleans corridor. We the added benefit of having family nearby Louisiana wins out for now.

But I get the want to move if you can. Besides the food and culture we are behind the rest of the country on nearly everything else.
