Getting the warrant is to get the same evidence Entercom's attorneys got that is not filtered through the investigation of the company. That they are doing so tells me they think they got a case. They played aling with the settlement talks to let Dunlap hang himself. Remember how upset he and his attorney reportedly got when WWL asked what OTHER discrimination he faced.

Bottom line is this
They have time stamp of tweet. They apparently have the IP address used to make the tweet.
If the Telco still has the records(doubtful) then they can easily search the time and data transfer to match the IP address.
Even if he used a legit VPN, hell even if he was somehow smart enough to use tails(he wasn't) or some other form of tor then they can still match the data transfer size and rate of the Telco still has the info.
Honestly though they should just get the phone, he prolly isn't smart enough to erase the history.

I agree. “Homophobic” is a stupid word to attribute to the tweet. Ramon Vargas needs to stop using it to describe this tweet.
They need to report on exactly what was tweeted. Maybe call it the “fig tweet” but stop using words that have nothing to do with the tweet.

There are several sports reporters in this city who if they were real men instead of whiny SJW vaginas would step up and take accountability for rushing to judgment for brownie points with the politically correct public. It took them 3 minutes to condemn the perpetrator (who happened also to be the victim) the station, and humanity in general. Where is the same response a week after finding out it was him? None have admitted they were wrong, none have called for jail time, none have apologized to wwl, none will even broach the subject. No accountability whatsoever.

If it was so bad for Seth at WWL Radio. If he was being treated poorly due to his sexuality. Then why did T Bob or any of his other radio friends not notate that BEFORE this incident?

Dunlap is suing WWL. Their defense hinges upon proof that he sent the tweet himself. To do that they need to subpeona his phone service provider. The assistance of the NOPD forensic lab is required. If it is proven that he DID send the tweet himself then he has committed a crime, which would then require the appropriate legal authorities (state level or federal level, not sure) to become engaged and this ceases to be a civil matter and now becomes a criminal matter. The NOPD's involvement, regardless of your perceived ability to solve murders, is appropriate in this matter.
