We bought two reclining Bassett couches last year. Very comfortable and sturdy. Would buy again.

He msrp you see on furniture is about 300%. MAP or manufactures advertised price is the lowest price the manufacturer will allow the retailer to sell for and usually whatyou see as a sale price is only about 50%.

I used to sell furniture to furniture stores. It’s not marked up 500%. Or anywhere close to that.
Ridiculous.
Ridiculous.

I bought my wife a custom lazboy chair a couple years ago and it is great. Very comfortable, we bought it with the power leg and usb on the side, she picked out the exact fabric she wanted. Took about 4 weeks or so and was delivered.

I am 71 and my Lazy Boy is 32 years old, still works, still able to lay in it and have that 30 minute power nap

And people will argue to their death even though you have direct knowledge of this subject.

Pottery Barn is made in the USA! No more Chinese junk.

List of high quality furniture brands I have owned
Henredon
Kincaid
Henkell Harris
Knoll
Herman Miller
Stickley
Floyd
Simplicity Sofas
Drexel
Vaughn Basset
Buying quality furniture is Louisiana is a PITA, when we were furnishing our camp we visited dozens of stores and gave up. We bought almost all of our furniture from stores in and around High Point/Hickory NC and had it shipped. We had always shopped there buy lived less than 2 hours away and never realized how much different the price and selection was there.

What are you looking for, sofa, chairs or sectional? If so check out Mitchell gold out of NC. Supply pottery barn and crate and barrow. I'm assuming they have a factory outlet and you could get some nice deals.

Not sure of the brand but I ordered furniture from Rooms to go a few months back when we moved into our new house. Never even sat on them, just picked something online and was pleasantly surprised.

Quality furniture = Stick up arse??? The street price of H&M is typically 50% of retail which makes it not much more expensive than the lifestyle brands but much higher quality. You can actually get some full grain leather options in the $2500 range that are nice mid century to modern designs if you use the promotional leathers, Hancock and Moore promotional leathers are better than ANYTHING Lazyboy offers.
I don’t know about that. We just bought a HM leather sectional and I want to say it was nowhere in the range of $2500 lol.

We have a lazy boy sectional couch. Not bad for the price, kind of a mid range brand and quality but comfort over look

Buy antiques, made of real wood.

Not sure what qualifies as expensive to you, but my wife went furniture shopping without me, and picked up a La-Z-Boy sectional for 4 grand.
That seemed expensive to me. I was a little cross.

We’re buying two of the sofas with power. They’re usually $4,000 a piece but getting them for $2,600 a piece.
So about $5700 (tax) before all the other crap you have to buy...warranties, battery pack, etc.
That’s the absolute top of my range but their look and comfort have been the best of everything we have seen.

Yeah, I know that was the going rate-- they always tell you you're getting a "sale".
I like the pieces, but the "power" option was dumb and unnecessary.
After showing it off to company for the first month, who the hell reclines on their couch? You lay on a couch.
My mind is still stuck on 1980s prices, too, I guess.
