No pain no gain

It was literally tearing her ligaments. I was just asking one of my PT friends about this after seeing the story, and they were like yeah, if your muscles and ligaments aren't slowly adapted over time and are forced into a position, they can rip. Not sure how that makes this girl a pu**y.
Exactly. There are better ways of training teenage girls to do splits without ripping their ligaments. Everybody complains about the "pussification of America" until something personally happens to them or their kids. Then they're usually the biggest snowflake of the bunch.

Were you a cheerleader?
This type of training happens all the time at cheer gyms. Girls cry a lot during stretches. They took it a liiiitle too far in the video, but crying is normal.

That video is not that bad. Sure it's bad for today's PC bs world, but that was the girl complaining and not being in shape for her sport as much as the coach. It's not like he was yelling at her and forcing her very hard. From what I saw the girl was being a huge wimp who never deserved to be on the team.
Frankly, this must be a really shitty team to not require the splits by tryouts or the coach to give her a short period of time to be able to do them on your own. It's not that difficult for most girls to do them with some stretching over the course of a couple of months.
As a parent I wouldn't be happy with that, but as a parent of non pussified girls they'd be able to do the damn splits if they were HS cheerleaders.

So fricking what? You have to do the splits to be cheerleader, either quit...or we'll help you. Yea it hurts, you don't have the will power to stretch like that on your own and suffer incremental pain...so quit or we'll show you what it takes. Get over it.

Haven't read the thread. Has SuperSaint been in here to praise this man yet?

It was the first week of cheer camp in June, and the girl was a freshman.

I was waiting for this thread.
I saw that video. Is this kind of training even a thing? Does anyone do this? Any cheerleaders here or Fathers of cheerleaders or baby's mama is a cheerleader?
I understand a split would be a thing that would require practice. That looked like some 16th century shite.
Has anyone here ever been subjected to this type training or heard of it?

100% this. Gender equality.

This is one of the stupidest fricking posts I've ever seen. Jesus Christ. And there are more of you tards that think this way too. Get it together, OT.
At best, he is a well-meaning retard. At worst, he is some sicko sadist who gets his kicks by torturing young girls. Either way, he should obviously be terminated. And like the other guy said, I can't believe in this day and age that they are allowing an adult male to coach young girls unsupervised. It sucks--especially for all the good male coaches out there--but that is just a dynamic that I'd want to avoid at all costs if I were an admin. There would have to be a an adult female present at all times.

Time magazine's cover story this month is about youth sports having become a $15 billion industry. The parents want their kids to excel and this is the type of stuff that comes with that IMO. I'm not saying that it's the right approach, just that it comes with the territory.

People here still seem to think that if you don't put your kid at risk of a catastrophic injury that could change their entire life (for no real gain in return) then you are a pussy. It is a mindset I just don't understand.

This is a criminal act. That coach and that school better prepare their asses.
Posted on 8/25/17 at 9:02 am to GetCocky11
how can you be a cheerleader and not do a split though?
Posted on 8/25/17 at 9:04 am to Pectus
That was what I wss thinking, my mind shot back to football camp.
Damn and if you got hurt and teared, they would ride your arse and make fun of you.

Respectfully, bullshite.
Competitive cheerleading is essentially floor exercise gymnastics, with 15-20 people doing it at the same time.
