Exactly. It’s only become more common because we continue to pander to and encourage the mental illness that is transsexualism.

A couple years ago i went to an event at a conservative Synagogue in Houston. There were armed guards at the gate to the parking lot and armed guards at the door. They had to have security for every event.
You can thank the aloha snackbars for this.

Both statements are true. And the reason this caught my attention is because I always thought the of the US as a country where people could practice any beliefs they want without being attacked for it and overall I still think we are that country. There are unfortunate situations, but I truly believe there is something bigger at play.
After these shootings take place law enforcement.. the FBI.. what is the first thing they do? Get to their computers. I think there is something sinister going on.
Anyone who wants to attack the US will do so financially or socially. And socially requires attacking the foundation of the US. Our freedoms. But how does one attack that? I think something is manipulating some of these mass shooters. And when you start going after specific groups, that is attacking a freedom. I don't know if bots are being used to find these people or if there is activity on their computer that allows whoever to be aware of them, then take action to somehow eventually get in communication with them, but something is going on the public isn't made aware of.
I will go back and see if mass shootings became more frequent with the growth of social media, but I think religion is just a vehicle that is used to steer something bigger and its one way groups (terrorist groups, groups associated with countries, etc.
I am not saying "oh I know this is going on". I don't truly subscribe to something without evidence, but there does seem to be a pattern.

Mostly older people go to church and they consume news like no other group.
The amount of people in this thread that say they are armed going to church, shows you the mindset that they are ready to use it. Seems to be a mindset that wouldn't be acceptable in any religion.
Just another reactionary society

What's offensive is that we live in a society that targets Christians and Churches. This has nothing to do with guards...heck the Swiss Guard comes to mind in terms of having guards as part of religion/Church.
What's sad is that we now live in a society that people are openly targeting Christian communities as a way to attack what they see as a cultural enemy.

We have an armed, uniformed policeman standing at our door at every mass. Marked car is parked nearby.
ETA: I concealed carry everywhere I go 24/7. That includes church.

Come on, you know better than that. Catholics, Protestants, Jews, all have been attacked. Temperance, anti-temperance, etc., all attacked, just through firebombs and general beatings.

A generation of high school history teachers talking about the " living Constitution." (As long we don't disagree with you, or setting parameters on what was acceptable speech in your eyes)

Outside of places like Chicago (phrased to avoid Chicken scrutiny?) Yes. Chicago and every major metro area is going to do what it's going to do. Start with Columbine and look at the explosion of publicity, and it was before social media, but not before it became cool to talk about the shooter before his body was cold on the local NBC affiliate.

We have had a sheriff’s deputy at all of our Masses for about a year.

My Southern Baptist church has had a (conceal carry) security team for probably 10 years. They are members of the church, whose identities are on a "need to know" basis, but several are in attendance for every service we have.
They've thankfully never been needed, and I pray they never are, but neither are we taking any chances.

Was not surprised but also was very sad to see its come to this. Armed Guard outside of Mass. I hope this is a temporary thing but recall seeing armed guards outside of Jewish synagogues in Europe in the early 2000s and thought it was symbolic as to where they were as a society and can't help fell the same with us here and now.
Damn, you must have missed every military conflict in history. Religion is the world's biggest problem.

Quakers from the 17th century say hi.
So do the Salem witches.
And the victims of the KKK.

I'd say Marxism is the biggest problem the world faces. After that Jihadi Islam and after that it would be entitled secularist who think they can gaslight people about Christianity.

Was it Congregation Or Ami? I found it ludicrous that I've carried firearms for far longer than any of the guards have been alive, but I wasn't allowed to bring 230 grains of hollow point justice into a place of worship, but the dude falling asleep outside was allowed to have his europellet to "protect" us. And this was long before Oct 7.

Armed Guards at Mass today
That's armed, carrying, and even put to use. Jesus did step in to put an end to this violence; however it appears no one to had a problem with being adequately prepared.

We've had security since the Dylan Roof incident in SC. It's the world we live in these days, man. It's sad, but have to protect the flock from evil.

Every church around here has a 'Safety Team.' As they should.
