Every medicine with freely available chemicals mentioned by politicians, actors, on commercials, and so on will have dumb asses following online info to "help" with something they haven't been tested for and poison themselves. Article throwing in Trump isn't helping nation but continuing same ole crap we have seen since Nov 2016.
quote:

The Valley couple, both in their 60s, were concerned about symptoms and reportedly saw information online suggesting aquarium products could be used to combat coronavirus.
“Which is absolutely wrong and unfortunately potentially dangerous,” Brooks said.
He added that it appears the couple ingested the equivalent of several days worth of the compound as it would have been prescribed as medicine....
...“Before taking the product they had not been tested,” Brooks said.

How about a headline that reads

Don’t drink aquarium cleaner! Instead of having to read through 3 paragraphs to find out what happened.
If you want to stop more idiots from dying that’s what you do.
If your agenda is to sway voting then that headline may work for some.

Already approved drugs are tempting for doctors to use off label, but formal studies are needed to see if they truly work for a new purpose or disease, said Dr. Ross McKinney Jr., chief scientific officer for the Association of American Medical Colleges, which represents about 400 major teaching hospitals across the country.

Chloroquine may look promising in a test tube, but “I’m skeptical it will be effective” in patients, he said last week in a call with reporters.
This clown is way behind whats actually happening in hospitals, including teaching hospitals.

Well, you're wrong. Since the president "ran his mouth about it", hospitals developed protocols to provide it to their sicker patients.

Bizarre they try to blame Trump. The media themselves killed this person by panicking and terrorizing him.

Actually lots of people who don't have health insurance resort to using aquarium antibiotics.

You can easily buy fish amoxicillin and other antibiotics and medicine at online pet stores and Amazon. No prescription, no doctors visit. The medicine is not labeled for human consumption but it's the same meds.

The big variable is the purity of the aquarium antibiotics and getting a correct dose. With amoxicillin it's not that critical, chloroquine is dangerous and toxic and you need testing to see what your liver can handle.

The guy sounds crazy for taking aquarium meds but people have been doing it safely for years. People were getting meds for livestock but moved to fish when the gov't cracked down. So now people are taking fish mox.

quote:

It’s not quite as crazy as it sounds. Fish are given many of the same antibiotics as humans—amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin, penicillin and more—sometimes even in the same doses. These pills, which are intended to be dissolved in fish tanks and be absorbed through fishes' skin, can also look extremely similar to the human versions. And while a trip to the doctor can rack up hundreds of dollars for someone who doesn't have insurance, a bottle of 30 500mg capsules of Moxifish costs just $29.95 from the supplier, Fishceuticals.
But there are a few key reasons why taking your fish’s drugs is a very bad, no good idea. Let’s start at the top.

First, fish antibiotics are completely unregulated. Technically, they should fall under the purview of the Food and Drug Administration, which oversees both human and animal drugs. Those animals including companion animals (dogs, cats, horses) and food animals (cattle, pigs, chickens). Yet no ornamental fish antibiotics are approved by the FDA.

Cliff notes: Man uses unregulated and unlicensed aquarium parasite treatment on himself on advice of strangers on the internet, and takes the equivalent of several days worth of the human dosage all at once. Immediately turns symptomatic of overdose. Dies.

Trump clearly at fault here.

In a different form, chloroquine phosphate is sold as an additive to deal with infections and algae in fish tanks.

Yep, Trump's fault.

They didn’t say it was trumps fault. Trump has said over and over that it’s promising as a possible drug to effectively end this pandemic so the guy had some and took too much.
As far as the rest, how many drugs looked promising only to find terrible side effects? I didn’t see it as an attack on trump. Damn sure hope it is a cure. We all want to get back to work.

Then when he doesn't mention it and it saves millions of lives he gets impeached for being a murderer.

Tds at it's finest. The media is winning. Sad days in America.

Thanks in advance.

A woman poisoning her husband is far more believable.

I just cannot comprehend how someone would be able to make to 60+ years of age without dying years ago if they actually would ingest a chemical cleaning agent on a whim that it may save him from a less than 1% chance of dying.

What did he do for a living was he suffering from some type of dementia of some sort. If I'm to believe that this is an actual risk to the adult population then I do not believe that any of these people should be able to vote, it's just not safe.

wow, such dishonesty.

This story is the equivalent of: If Trump mentioned during a presser that having a glass of wine a couple nights a week is perfectly healthy. Then you got drink a bottle of Rubbing Alcohol from your medicine cabinet.

Also, you’re a fricking dumbass.
