My house is 40+ miles from town and Im surrounded by family I don't speak to. There is no strategic value.

That's where I'm going when the shite pops off
Same here. Family has 3 places to stay and several boats/kayaks. I could live off the land/water for a while.

Barricade the bridge into GI and the only way to get there is by boat.

West Virginia but I'm not telling you where. Mrs. Mule is from there and her family owns a lot of land on a lake and a separate farm. They have well water and a couple of cabins already that they use to hunt/vacation on the nearby lake.

That's where I'm making my stand if things go south.

ETA: Oh and other than Randy Moss everyone is white. So I don't have to worry about being a victim of racism.

I would imagine the upper plains states like Wyoming, Montana, and the Dakotas would be utterly untouched. Alaska and Hawaii likely would be too.

I moved my family to Northern Idaho. I can't changes the world, all I can do is try and live somewhere my kids are safe and can still have a nice childhood. I couldn't see doing that in Louisiana or Texas. Has been a great move for us. I would never move back.

Does technology just cease to exist then? Because you aren't living long in Grand Isle without modern tech.

I would say the Ozarks. Back in the 60's an Indian turned up somewhere there that had lived so isolated, not only had he never heard a radio, he had never seen a road.
