Unfortunately no. I am basing it on memory alone, of a newspaper article I read around that time, early 60's or possibly late 50's. You would probably have to contact an historian in Arkansas or check newspaper archives to find the report, it was in either the Morning Advocate or the Times Picayune. The road could possibly have been an airport runway, which would make more sense, but the gist of the story was that the individual had lived mostly isolated.

Lou Pai had a ranch in Colorado so large that he personally OWNED a 14,000' mountain, Culebra Peak. So, in the ultimate situation, I'd choose that. You could hide out in the upper approaches to your own mountain and snipe anyone coming from a long way off.
