I feel terrible for all the nursing home residents that could not visit with their family today
My Grandpas nursing home was allowing the resident to leave for a meal but they would have to quarantine in their room for 14 days afterwards

I spent about 4 hours with my daughter-in-law, son, and their 2 year old and 3 month old daughters today. It was great!

I have been back home, alone, since. But I am not lonely, I like living alone.

I am actually relieved that my 93 year old Mom passed away in January of this year. I was able to see her and hold her hand the day before she passed.

I cannot bear to think what it would be like if she were still alive; living in her assisted living facility; and my siblings and I were not allowed visit her. I am thankful that she did not endure that loneliness.

To all those who experience true loneliness, especially during the holidays, I wish you peace.

ETA: Elvis "Are You Lonesome Tonight?"

It seemed appropriate.

Friend,

Yes. I hope you are well. I am in the car headed home and it is a bitter thing to be in the backseat of a car on Thanksgiving night. Our typical Thanksgiving hymn sing and vespers were canceled this year due to the virus. I miss a year ago and the happy Thanksgiving night, looking ahead to the excitement of Christmas ornament shopping on Black Friday. It will not be so tomorrow. Mother even said I am not allowed to sing on this ride, further dampening my spirits and isolating my soul.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Do you miss me tonight?
Are you sorry we drifted apart?
Do your memories stray
To a bright summer day
When I kissed you and
Called you sweetheart?

Time to fire up the Bumble, Tinder, or Grindr apps.

We don’t judge here on the OT.

Just make sure you post about your experience on this board.

I came home early from work yesterday and tried to surprise her

When I walked inside I found 3 bags packed

She said she was going to stay at her mother's for a while and to give her some space... I dont think she's gonna come back

I am devastated... 3 years of everything I could give and I dont think it matters

I dont have much family, so I ate sushi at some Asian place for Thanksgiving... it was the only place open
