It's definitely a decision

Not for some people and not all the time.

I went through depression, I had something going on that was a big factor in me being depressed, but for someone who is not happy because they are suffering from depression, it's not a decision.

I'm happier in some aspects of my life, not so much in others. Working on making some changes to those areas where I'm not happy.

I don’t feel happiness or sadness. Just monotony.

I’m on the struggle bus of adulthood — last kidleaving home in the fall —- empty nest —- readjusting to just me and hubs will not be easy after 26 years of kids here. I’m not in a hurry for them to go —- they’re cool kids and I like having them around.

Have lots to be thankful for and I am —- I just struggle at times and the holidays do not help.

Life is good right now. It’s amazing the effect of being in a career you hate vs a career you actually enjoy will have on a person’s mental health.

I read the OT to feel better about myself. Doesn't take long to find that one thread.

I'm mostly happy. I have a few complaints, but they aren't really all that bad. I have it a lot better than most.

What helped me has was making the conscious decision to be happy. I have to remind myself of that everyday. Sometimes multiple times a day. For a little bit I got on an Eastern religion kick, and it helped me understand desire, suffering, and love. I'm by no means on the path to enlightenment and I'm not dressed in a robe and meditating all day, but those guys made some sense to me and how to deal with life. I don't sweat the small things and I better cope with the big things.

Got a nice house, a good job, a little money in the bank, both my wife's family and mine aren't batshit crazy, the wife has a good job and she's the absolute love of my life.

Yes, I'm happy.

I’m a few years from being in that boat. Not sure what the next phase is. Just make it a damn good one.
