Yep.

Scruffy has a great job and is engaged.

Couldn’t get better right now.

I mean yes I guess...good GF, own my own place, own my own business. But the last part of that is causing me major headaches and stress lately. Add in somehow bills never stop coming in and way to backed up on work to enjoy the season really. But yea still happy in the end

It’s December, I am kayaking in a bikini on weekends, I have an awesome house, great dog, amazing guy who deals with my shite. I make good money, no bills besides the house, occasional FFM play, drink wine nightly, ride roller coasters when I want, Maui in 2017, Jackson, WY in 2018, looks like Greece next year, all free. Yeah, life sucks.

Yeah I'm actually serious

I have my own little secluded area that I can wander about and just think about stuff while enjoying the scenery and listening to some tunes. I've been scouting some cool areas to travel to just for a weekend so I can trip there. Never tried K, it was hard enough for me to find a good LSD guy.

I wanted to go smoke and do a walk around the property today. Maybe kill a hog or two.... but the rain said “frick your plans”. Been a weird few weeks and need to clear my mind.

Going to Colorado next month for a few days with some friends so hopefully that’ll put a spark back in my step

I am very, very grateful for what I have. But I have low level depression, so I don’t often feel actual happiness. Just kind of flat. It could be worse.

Sounds like you’ve got a good little therapeutic system. People will probably dismiss it but I really do think breaking out from the normal routine of life every now and then is very beneficial for mental health/happiness. I only do about 4-5 times a year but it typically is always a positive experience. And in a weird way makes me appreciate the normal routine as well

ETa: I just like Nihilist memes. I'm actually quite happy, in general.

Yes.

Life isn't perfect, but it's pretty close.

Congratulations Scruffy.

I have my ups and downs. The good is two awesome daughters whom I get 50/50 time with (young so no pics), job with a good work/life balance, good family and friends, actually didn’t get screwed by the courts when the ex left me, and in good health. The downs are someone who I planned to spend my life with left me, my dad has been dealing with some major medical issues for a while, and and I have 0 sex life with 0 prospects.

Happiness based on circumstances or materialism is temporary. It creates dependency.

The pursuit of happiness should be replaced with the pursuit of contentment.

Right now, yes.

A few months ago? No.

Share why you aren't happy. Being depressed is ok, but not to the point to reach out like this. Share your grievances!
