This test is beneath me.

I guess I subconsciously make that distinction all the time. I mean if I chose the wrong person for the wrong job, everyone suffered.

11 with authority, self sufficiency and exploitativeness being the subcategories that registered.
However, I was oddly happy that I scored 11 because that's my favorite number so maybe my real score is a 12 out of 41.
Agreed. Maybe it's my 45th percentile narcissism talking but the questions were "obvious" enough that I'm confident that I can score either a zero or a 40 on command.

ETA: It would be really easy for someone who was trying to hide their narcissism to spoof this test. The MMPA or whatever it's called is better. It asks the same questions over and over from a bunch of different angles.

4 here
Some of yalls scores dont surprise me, but At least y'all are being honest
That one question where the options were having authority over others or following orders needed a none of the above - I don't like being told what to do, but I also respect other people's right to autonomy.

Anything less than 20 means you're a total beta.

24.
Vanity was all the way
Authority was very high
Exploitiveness was high
Entitlement was very low
I like to look at myself after I workout/throught the day so I almost feel like that skews my answers for vanity.

Honestly, anyone who scores in the 30s or high 20s should probably seek therapy. High 30s has rarely been recorded.

29/40....you will do as I say...

I guess I am, but I'm also confident in leadership roles, and that was half the questions.
I scored a 20...similar views as you.
I like being in leadership roles, and most of my professional life has been that way. I am good at that. I like having command. I don't really understand how that makes one a narcissist. If you're trained, competent and have vision (in whatever field), then you ought to be a leader. That's not narcissistic.
But looking at yourself in the mirror and manipulating people for gain? F that.
I bet half the F500 CEO's would score over 30 on this.

Ya think?
From the introduction on the quiz page:
quote:
The NPI was developed by Raskin and Hall (1979) for the measurement of narcissism as a personality trait in social psychological research. It is based on the definition of narcissistic personality disorder found in the DSM-III, but is not a diagnostic tool for NPD and instead measures subclinical or normal expressions of narcissism. So, even someone who gets the highest possible score on the NPI does not necessarily have NPD.
You're living up to your username there.

Many people mistake confidence for narcissism. It's frequently a word employed by betas to passively dismiss those more assertive than them.

Well, it is part of the equation. A complete narcissist is completely confident in his superiority.
