There are definitely points to be made about over exposure to negative information/news. We are not evolved/created to be inundated daily with the worst things that happened out of population of 7 billion people. While perhaps being under connected to the people and things we traditionally would be. But it’s hard to argue we don’t live in the greatest time ever overall, there is a reason a lot of the benefits we have today exist… they make stuff better. The world overall today feels very negative, but just existing today compared to 99.9 percent of all of history, probably means you are far happier/well off than you would have been. Thoughts?

In my lifetime, 60's - 90's have been best. The last 20 years have been very much hit or miss.

Yes. Our problems are so inconsequential we have to make up new ones.

No better time than the present

Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot and doesn’t realize how good we have it

You do realize there are places that don’t need it?

Our President just subtly threatened a nuclear strike on his own people, but yeah, everything is great.

I would have loved to been my dad's age, graduating HS in 1959. They had some fricking fun. He wasn't a hippie and joined the National Guard after quitting LSU but they partied pretty fun and loose for a almost a decade before he settled down to make us shite biscuits.

His story about hitchhiking with a buddy from Baton Rouge all the way to Key West just to frick off for a couple of weeks is one that puts any of my shenanigans to shame.

They rode with a trucker who gave them a bunch of speed pills.

They got drunk with chicks, hippies, and musicians on the beaches along the way

And they were sitting on the beach drinking beers the moment the US military convoy rolled by and started setting up shop of equipment/tents/anti aircraft guns. He described it just like this picture.
Most civilians were clueless as to what the frick was going on.

It was precisely this moment they decided to hitchhike back to Baton Rouge.
